We must go through "emergency" scenarios or drills.  This allows us to practice the correct responses while dealing with dangerous situations so that in times of actual crisis, we will "do the right thing!"  The Bible gives us the right way to react to emergencies.

If we have come through spiritual Bootcamp and become part of the team (received the Lord Jesus as our Savior), we have been given spiritual gifts.  These gifts or specialized abilities are to be used in the context of the "team/crew," or the church allows the vessel to run a safe and effective manner.

Where do we start and where do we go from here.  How does a 17-year-olds experience in US Navy boot camp relate to Christian life?

Where do you turn when life seems impossible...Jesus says, "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."  Matthew 11:28
