Hey, I’m Gabe. A wife, mom, writer, runner, and Jesus lover! For years I put my dreams on the shelf thinking I had to sacrifice my own desires for motherhood. I thought I needed to be everything to everyone, but in the process I lost myself. I felt so scattered because I had way too many things on my plate, and I made all the excuses! What I realize now, after hitting a massive goal of qualifying for the Boston Marathon, is that my kids need me to pursue my own goals so I can be their best example. EP 256 | Remembering What God's Done in our Lives [DEVO]

In Nehemiah 8 we saw Israel worshipping the Lord. They spent about a month rejoicing because the joy of the Lord was their strength. They worshipped and celebrated all that God has done for them.
Now In Nehemiah 9 we move into a transition time of confession. Confession is a way to restore our hearts to God. We restore fellowship with him and can relation freely with him again.
His forgiveness brings restorations, it brings healing, it allows fellowship to flow again, it produces hope. So why is it so hard for us to confess our wrongs?

Ep 252 | There's Still More to Be Done [DEVO]

Nehemiah 6:15-16 says the wall was finished in 52 days and all the surrounding nations were afraid once they heard about it because they perceived that the work had been done with the help of God, which, of course, it was.
God showed his power and his faithfulness through the rebuilding of the wall. Other cities recognized God was with the Jews. God's presence was evident in their lives. What would it look like for God's presence and strength to be evident in our own lives?
