    A Spirit-led Gospel Conversation

    A Spirit-led Gospel Conversation

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
The Holy Spirit really works through us. Audry took a long bus ride to the northern part of Burundi, Africa, and sat next a woman who introduced herself as Chantal. Now naturally, the conversation turned to spiritual things, and Audry was able to share with her the Good News of the Gospel. When he started sharing about Jesus, Audry wanted to ask, “Who do you think Jesus is?” …but he had forgotten her name! The Holy Spirit prompted him to call her Yvonne. She replied, “Wow! How do you know my real name?” She had told Audry a false one because, at first, she didn’t want to talk to him. She said, “The fact that you know my real name means that the One leading you is above all things.” She listened eagerly to the rest of the Gospel and received Jesus as her Savior. She said, “Now, I know that God loves me. Even the things that I tried to hide, they’re known by Him.” You know, you can learn how to share the Gospel too by visiting our website at www.sharelife.today.

The Feet That Bring Good News

The Feet That Bring Good News

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
As we continue sharing what God is doing around the world; I want to share with you an inspiring story from Uganda. Denis took a team that he was discipling to a football field for what we call “On The Job training.” They saw someone seated dangerously on a cliff at the edge of the field. If the man wasn’t careful, he would fall and get hurt. Denis and his team approached the young man whose name was Jonathan. He’d lost his job two weeks back and was desperate and depressed about his situation. That morning, Jonathan prayed for God to show him the way, even though he had never prayed before and didn’t know God. But he had heard that when you pray, God answers. So Jonathan told Denis, “Share your message with me!” After they told him the Gospel, Jonathan committed his life to Jesus. Who do you know that needs to hear the Gospel? Let the Children Come

    Let the Children Come

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” This famous passage from Matthew 19 shows us Jesus' heart—God loves the little children of the world. And He wants to have a personal relationship with them! Something I prayed over my own children is that they would know the Lord at the earliest possible age. And, you know, we have an opportunity in our communities and our families to share the hope found in Christ with our children. You know, in Africa, we’ve been doing this through a program called Hope for Kids. Children are learning the key points of the Gospel, and they’re giving their hearts to Jesus. They also are learning how they can clearly share it with their friends as well! And last year, we saw over eight million children hear the Good News of the Gospel. A Dangerous Christian

    A Dangerous Christian

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
This summer, we’re spotlighting what God is doing around the world; and this week, we are hearing stories from Africa. And let me tell you...there are exciting things happening on this continent. Just this past year through evangelism training events, we saw over twenty million people make professions of faith in Jesus. And that happened through over one million believers learning how to share their faith—both adults and children. These Christians were in churches, schools, and even prisons; and they began to share the Gospel and reach their communities for Jesus. You want to make a Christian dangerous to the enemy? Well, teach them how to share the Good News! The Bible says that the gates of Hell will not prevail against Christ's church. Let's do the same as our African brothers- and sisters-in-Christ—let's take the Good News of what Jesus has done on the cross to our communities. Not sure where to start? Well, we'd love to help. Persecution in Lebanon

    Persecution in Lebanon

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
As we conclude this week talking about the church globally and how we’re called to go to the nations, I wanted to share a testimony with you from a challenging part of the world. Made up of the former Soviet Union and most of the Middle East, Central Asia is a region where persecution happens almost every day to Christ-followers. And yet, God is moving mightily in these countries. For instance, in a small village in Lebanon, a family heard the Gospel from a team of Christians who knocked on their door. The husband, the wife, and all the children gave their hearts to Christ that day. And the villagers were not pleased and began persecuting them heavily. However, God used these same Christians who led the family to Christ to share with the villagers also, and their minds were changed. So let's be encouraged today to step out ourselves and to share the Gospel. You can learn more about how you can share your faith at www.sharelife.today. That’s www.sharelife.today.

    Rejoice in Persecution

    Rejoice in Persecution

Hi, I’m John Sorensen, President of Evangelism Explosion International, and you’re listening to Share Life Today.
In His famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven." You know, persecution can be a difficult topic to talk about; and yet if we are followers of Christ, Jesus Himself said that we will face it. But it will not be in vain. Christ promises that when we share in His sufferings by facing insults and false accusations that there is a reward. When I read this, I am encouraged that firstly, I am not in this alone—Jesus has experienced the very same rejection. And secondly, there is no reason to be scared to share my faith because even if it ends in persecution, my Savior says, “Rejoice.” So let's take heart and share! For more, visit www.sharelife.today.
