    My new Body - 2 Corinthians 4:13- 18, 5:1NLT

    My new Body - 2 Corinthians 4:13- 18, 5:1NLT

We're told that faith encourages. So, never give up. Then there's talk about our new body and that we should take the long view. After all, knowing that we will live forever, with God in a place without sin and suffering, can help us live above the pain that we face in this life. Right?

    God’s Words don’t fall to the ground! - 1 Samuel 3:1-5, 8b-20

    God’s Words don’t fall to the ground! - 1 Samuel 3:1-5, 8b-20

But Samuel is just a kid! And God called him to be a prophet? I wonder what kind of discipline he had to go through to get that job. Eli was much better suited, right? He had the age, he had the education, he had the position. So why not him? We'll find the answer in 1 Samuel 3. Join me!

    Send Me! - Isaiah 6:1-8

    Send Me! - Isaiah 6:1-8

Our text today talks about the throne where the Lord is seated, high and exalted, represents His eternal sovereign, and universal rule, He is high above all other kings, but at the same time He is concerned about the welfare of His people, The imagery of God’s robe filling the temple conveys a sense of encompassing presence, signifying that God’s glory permeates all spaces, even transcending physical boundaries.
This brings home that God is with us every day, everywhere, in every circumstance. Does this scare you? Or does it bring you joy?

I will put my Spirit in you. - Ezekiel 37:1, 5-14

I will put my Spirit in you. - Ezekiel 37:1, 5-14

This Sunday is Pentecost and we're remembering what happened to the Apostles on that day almost 2,000 years ago, when wind like a storm moved through their room. About 2,600 years ago Ezekiel prophesied about dried bones and God breathing life into them with a wind. I wonder if we run into dry bones at one time or another and how we react to them. Dry bones might represent someone who has lost hope, lost vitality, lost direction, lost God?

    The Promise – Acts 1:1-11

    The Promise – Acts 1:1-11

In the book of Acts Luke continues the story he began in his Gospel, covering the 30 years after Jesus was taken up into heaven. Before Jesus’ ascension He gave his 11 disciples, who became formally known as His apostles after His resurrection, 3 commands, or better to say 3 authoritative/divine orders:
The first command Jesus gave was: "Follow me!"
The second command: " love the Lord your God.’ & ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The last command Jesus gave before he was taken up: "be my witnesses”
I think these commands apply to all of us!

God shows no favoritism - Acts 10:34-43

God shows no favoritism - Acts 10:34-43

    Three things:
    1. Favoritism is inconsistent with God’s character
    2. Favoritism is contrary to God’s values
    3. Favoritism is sin
In Acts 10 Peter clearly learns that God is for all. Jews and Gentiles alike. He shows it clearly when the Holy Spirit came upon all that listened to Peter's sermon. The Holy Spirit came even though Peter wasn't done preaching yet! The Holy Spirit surprised all the Jews present by coming upon all the Gentiles. God is for and with all of us... no preferences... no favorites.
