What’s up y’all ? Welcome to episode 2 of Ghetto Until Proven Trendy our black history special. This week we are talking about the history of southern food in a fun way.   Fun Fact: Okra, watermelon, and coffee beans ALL CAME FROM AFRICA  We used to grow and eat watermelon in the fields to keep ourselves from fainting.   Africans have always bonded through food. Although slavery is a tragic part of our history, the least we can do is honor our ancestors by learning their stories. Everything that we have been through made us who we are today.   We carry on a lot of traditions to this day that started with our ancestors and we don’t even know it. The more you learn about them the more you learn about yourself.
