In this episode I talk to Zoë Hodge, who is a lecturer in Stage and Production Management course and for the last few decades has been working in Production, Stage and Tour Management in live events and some of our favourite festivals, including Glastonbury. We discuss her versatile career path, communicating and managing almost exclusively male colleagues, being a mom working in live events and how live music production industry and festivals could help professionals with children.

Happy International Women's Day! Welcome to the Females in The Mix Podcast Series VOL 2 ! In this episode I talk to my Music Business Management MA coursemate, Meghna Kallat, who was a Brand Manager in Sony Music Entertainment India and has years of experience in Marketing and Advertising. We discuss what music industry looks like in India, what are Meghna's personal experiences as a woman working in the business side of music, how the war, Russia invading Ukraine, and other tragic world events impact music industries and marketing as well as tackle some of the daily issues women working in music have to face and give tips on how to deal with it.

In the final episode of the first season of Females in The Mix Podcast I talk to Claire Rose, who is a Women in CTRL Community Manager and PRS for Music Outreach Manager. Claire shares her hands on experience being involved in organising events focused on women in music and overall ethnicity, sexuality and gender equality issues, as well as advice on where women should seek for support in fighting discrimination, unconscious bias and sexism in the industry. We discuss the ways of calling out and educating others, importance of male allies being involved in the conversation, seat at the table reports and more.

In this episode I talk to famous Indian singer, composer, guitar player who is also actively involved in Charity work and Bollywood movies scene Shibani Kashyap. Her music talks about difficult social causes and daily issues in today's society. We discuss the affect of pandemic in India and, of course, her journey as a musician- dealing with stereotypes of a woman only being a singer, oppose to also a composer or instrumentalist. Shibani Kashyap shares the highlights and obstacles of her career that led to where she is right now.

In this episode I talk to artist manager and A&R Crystal Fearon with who we discuss the disparities of managing female and male artist and challenges that come with either. Moreover we talk about importance of mental health and lack of conversations about it in the music industry. Lastly Crystal shares her experience and tips to new artist managers and anyone considering on starting it. 

In this episode I talk to venue and light technician Charlotte Gowers aka Lottie Plays who shares her journey of experience working in night clubs for number of years and as well as discuss venue staff and DJs perception of LGBTQ+ community, Female DJs and more.
