Starting with Hanky Panky in 1966, the hits rolled out - I Think We're Alone Now, Gettin' Together, Mony Mony, Crimson and Clover, Crystal Blue Persuasion and Draggin' the Line to name only a few. Then there were the successful cover versions by Billy Idol, Tiffany and Joan Jett.

The Tommy James story is amazing. Signing with a mob run record label provided an interesting start, knocking back Woodstock and rejecting songs from George Harrison adds to this incredible tale.

Deep Purple may not be touring Australia now, but we did manage to get their bass player and the man who came up with Smoke on the Water - Roger Glover - for a chat and he is quite a character.
