A break from trauma, abuse, and recovery to talk about a pet peeve: people who distort history to make their arguments.  I hate it even when I generally agree with the point being made.

What does it mean when someone tries to coerce you into lying for them? Is truth the best policy?  If we all lie, when is it ok to lie?

This is a hard topic to talk about because I don't want to make light of anyone's pain, or try to justify mistreatment.  However, I feel like people around me, in focusing on "micro-aggressions" are starting to resemble grievance collectors.  I talk about trying to find a balance between letting everything go (eg being a doormat) and focusing excessively on any and all hurts we've suffered.
