New era, new name: Welcome to Pod Save The King, the award-winning Royal podcast from the Daily Mirror.

The Royal family is finding its way in a new era. Following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, King Charles III began his reign alongside Camilla, The Queen Consort. William and Kate became Prince and Princess of Wales. As the family changes, rifts remain with Harry and Meghan across the Atlantic and Prince Andrew is still in the aftermath of the Newsnight interview. There is joy too, as Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis grow up both in and out of the public eye, and the Tindalls, Beatrice and Eugenie find their own ways.

Expect behind the scenes details, fashion, travel, causes, politics and society, plus interviews with people who can provide a particular insight into your favourite Royals, their work and their place in Britain today. “Lively discussions with a wide-ranging appeal. Refreshingly informal, totally unstuffy and a thoroughly modern take on all things royal. And it’s funny too.” - the Press Awards Judges, who named Pod Save The King Lifestyle Podcast of the Year.

Prince Harry, Prince Andrew and echoes of the Duke of Windsor

Princess of Wales photo frenzy as Palace loses control

Princess of Wales photo frenzy as Palace loses control

The “madness of social media” over Kate’s extended absence from the public eye has reached new levels of insanity.
Sharing a sweet Mother’s Day photo of Kate and the children taken by Prince William should have been a reassuring moment - instead the edited image represented a PR disaster and sent the rumour mill into a whole new spiral.
Since then there has been video of the Prince and Princess of Wales at a Windsor farm shop and an investigation into an alleged breach of Kate’s medical records - while the royals attempt to Keep Calm and Carry On.
Pod Save the King host Ann Gripper is joined by Daily Mirror royal editor Russell Myers, who broke the story of the medical records investigation, to try to make sense of it all - and what happens next.

Okey-Cee ,

Harry is GONE, let him go.

It appears to me that you guys will NEVER get it, and thats okay. So, Let me spell it out for you….

1: Harry is GONE, as long as you people refuse to acknowledge and respect the fact that he is a man, a husband and a father, WORTHY and DESERVING of his opinions, his personhood, AGENCY and respect, he will NEVER return, all this talk of him asking his family to return or trying to “heal the rift” is CLEARLY a fever dream that has gripped you British media/Royalists. It will NEVER happen. Its crazy how those of us outside of this drama see it more clearly than you guys do.

Also, For the rest of us across the Commonwealth and the world, we look at you people in sadness and pity.
I wont go into how those of us Africans and in the Caribbeans in the same “Commonwealth” feel about how the British Media and the Royal Family treated the FIRST Black mixed-race woman to marry into that family. Or how the FIRST mixed-race children had to be removed from Britain because of the way the family was treated by both the press and the RF, you all should be ashamed, but i guess shame, is only for people with a sense of integrity.
Cos for people who are SO caught up in “appearances” you don’t seem to really care how this whole business looks to anyone who has a lick of sense and decency.

Second: You always talk as though there is some kinda competition going on, some struggle for the limelight or relevance….
I don’t see it. Harry is LIGHTYEARS ahead of the rest of the pack. He is so far ahead, he is almost not in the same dimension, hence the cognitive dissonance. Its a one sided competition; with the Royals and their spokespeople in the media (you guys) on the one side, and a stupidly curated caricature of Harry (NOT the man himself) on the other, Harry himself is CLEARLY not interested in the whole mess, as he has said, again and again.

But, do go on though…. Hopefully someday, the delusion will clear, but by then, you guys would have successfully destroyed the once respected British Monarchy (you already are, in the eyes of the world, by the way, and its TRULY sad that you are so busy navel-gazing, that you can’t see it) and Harry, having moved on, will be on a whole other level.
The Sussexes are already morphing into something other, while you guys keep fighting with this caricature of them that you created. the rest of us are already seeing them as respected global icons and cultural ambassadors of a Britain that we thought we knew/respected (Minus the Tories, Brexit, and the British media/Rota as we see them now).
By the way, where is Andrew? Where is Kate?
Why have the Commonwealth Games failed and the Invictus Games keeps going from strength to strength??

Nobody wants to talk about that huh??
Keep doing what you are doing. Perhaps its succeeding in Britain, (which, i suppose is your primary market) but let me assure you that Its failing spectacularly across the world, and taking “Brand Britain” with it. And no fake polls are changing anyones mind. Because the rest of us see the embarrassment that you people insist on calling “reporting” and we will be here to watch the vaunted “thousand year institution” crash and burn, because like a psychopathic ex, the Royals and their mouthpieces in the press, cant take a hint.
As for the rest of the RF? You can bow and scrape all you want, to sell their agenda, BUT as has been proven again and again and again, Prince Harry is the ONLY royal brave enough to put HIS NAME behind any quote.
The rest; with their “sources” and “palace insiders”, can keep playing that silly game, Harry has exposed it already, and so we KNOW what to look for in your “reports”. And so, at this point, its just funny and sad watching you guys scurry around.
To correctly paraphrase my headline, Harry is gone, if you guys can’t or won’t cover him fairly, then LET HIM GO!!
This behavior is giving “toxic-ex” and its an UGLY look! Thankfully, the American media has noticed and has begun calling you people out. Maybe pay attention and have some self-awareness, but perhaps thats too much to ask of the British media these days.
