Today's Facts
One day on the Moon is 27 days on the Earth.
The Moon causes most of the ocean tides because of the force of gravity between the Moon and the Earth.
The Moon is about four and a half billion years old, about the same age as the Earth.
The Moon is about 384,000 km from the Earth.
The surface of the Moon is about the same size as the continent of Africa.
Today's (bad) Joke
Did you hear about the great new restaurant on the moon? The food's excellent but there's no atmosphere.

After the Americans went to the Moon, the Soviets announced they would be sending a man to the Sun.
The engineers objected. 'If you send a man to the Sun, he will burn up'.
'What do you think we are, stupid?', they replied. 'We'll send him at night!'
