We’ve all heard the belief that money is the "root of all evil", but religions have posited a lot of other stuff as “evil” with no evidence, so we shouldn’t let this one go by unanalyzed!  

Like so many things, perhaps it’s not the thing itself, but how we use it - responsibly and ethically, or irresponsibly and selfishly.  This morning’s talk will take us back to the dawn of civilization and find out what part money played in creating life as we’ve come to know it.  We’ll glean clues into ways we can use this powerful tool for mutual benefit.

The global pandemic has shown us without a doubt just how linked we all are!  Fortunately, this interconnectedness isn’t just bad news, it’s also very good news.  Our interdependent nature means that even our tiny actions can ripple out and have profound consequences - even more so if we plan them skillfully, with the knowledge of the web that binds us all together!

What do fatherhood and “manliness” mean in our modern era, where “traditional” gender roles don’t always apply?  It sort of means whatever you want it to mean!

Gender expression, familial roles, and archetypes have always been malleable - changing from culture to culture.  Today, we’ll explore some of the potent archetypes of “manhood”, “fatherhood”, and how we relate with these aspects of ourselves and others.  By bringing this exploration into the light of consciousness, we remedy unhealthy associations we may have with these mythic elements within, and begin to confront “toxic masculinity” in our communities in a more empowered and loving way.
