In this episode we breakdown the 2013 National Theater Live production of Othello directed by Nicholas Hytner & Robin Lough. This was a very heavy episode for us. Othello deals with some dark themes and even darker deeds that we attempt to unpack in a truthful and entertaining way. From stellar performances, to uncomfortable questions, to no answer to the question “Is the Racist?”, we dig deep to trudge to though the emotional mud and try to make sense of this ugly tragedy.

With guest Adam Wesley Brown. In this episode we break down the 2014 live production of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Julie Taymor. From inspired visual choices, to double jointed elbows, to thousands of stage pillows, this was an enchanting and wonderfully weird production that we highly recommend.

In this episode we break down the 'White Whale': Romeo and Juliet (2018) directed by Erica Whyman for the Royal Shakespeare Company. From honest performances, to Mercutio's hips stealing the show, to clarity for a play that is often misunderstood, this one of the best productions of R&J we've seen.

In this episode we wanted to zoom out a little. Paul had some questions about the over all context of Shakespeare that we decided to take some time to go through. Hopefully this conversation is helpful and entertaining.

In this episode we break down the 2014 all-male cast production of Twelfth Night at Shakespeare's Globe. From gliding shrews, to hi-jinx filled humor, to no answer to the question "Is this gay?". This was a solid production that led us down interesting roads of conversation.

In this episode we break down our first filmed stage production of 'Julius Caesar', put on by Donmar Warehouse and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. From whether Caesar's a dick, to women in prison, to DDR battlefields, this was a fantastic production that we're excited to share about.
