It's October 1995 and a landline phone is ringing loudly in the newsroom of The Star news office building in Johannesburg. Lucy Mathews, a Star reporter hears the ringing and enters the room. Her Editor follows behind her. On the other end is a man who claims to be responsible for the ABC killings. Lucy needs to keep him talking long enough for the police to find him.

It's 1995 in Pretoria South Africa and Eva Middleton is just arriving to the office. She has a lot of work to do. Eva is a Forensic Psychologist and the first criminal profiler in South Africa. Eva loves her job and just two days before, she was assigned to a task force at the Pretoria Murder and Robbery Unit. Someone is killing young black women and the task force is under pressure to solve the cases. Eva has a hunch about who the killer is and what he might do next.
