Pray lest you enter into temptation

Pray lest you enter into temptation

Proverbs 24:10 (KJV) says, “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy   strength is small.”

Fred was told that reading was the key to passing his exams. So, he read diligently but still failed. Being a child, he turned to his mother, exclaiming, “You lied, Mom! You said I’d pass if I read my books. I read them all, but I failed!” His mother, with a gentle smile, asked him how he read. Fred admitted he didn’t understand much of it.

Many Christians have heard Jesus’ words, “Pray lest you enter into temptation” (Mark 14:38), and they prayed. But when faced with temptation, they fell. Like Fred, they wonder why.

Here’s the thing: you shouldn’t stop praying until you get an answer from God, just like Fred shouldn’t have stopped reading until he understood his books.

But many Christians pray haphazardly. They pray until they feel like stopping, instead of letting answers guide their prayer time.

God says, “I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence, and give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

So, decide today: never stop praying until you’re stronger than your adversities and empowered to resist temptation.—Dr. Emmanuel James

    Claim Your Inheritance

    Claim Your Inheritance

Deuteronomy 2:24 (KJV) “Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.”

John was just a kid when he started having dreams of greatness. At first, he shrugged them off, but they kept coming. Eventually, he embraced the idea that he was destined for wealth and success. And for a while, things looked bright – he excelled in school, topping his department. But then, life took a sharp turn downhill.

In today’s passage, God promised land to Israel, but they had to fight for it.

Similarly, John had a glimpse of God’s plan for his life, but he didn’t realize it would be a battle to get there.

Don’t expect God’s promises to come easy. If you want to see them fulfilled, get ready to fight through faith and prayer (See Ephesians 6:12,18).

Ask God to equip you for the battle ahead, so you can overcome every obstacle in your path (Psalm 18:34).—Emmanuel James

    Fruit of the Spirit 11

    Fruit of the Spirit 11

Galatians 5:22-23 (NET) reads, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

Because of the way Lanre was raised, he was very harsh and brash. He was only nice to people he wanted to impress or get something from. He didn’t know any other way of doing things because that was the way he was brought up.

After receiving the Lord Jesus and allowing His word to change the way he lives, he found that Jesus was not pleased with the way he behaved.

A gentle person is kind, tender, and mild-mannered. He treats people with the level of kindness and tenderness he would expect from people. God is gentle and humble. So should we because we have received His divine nature and should walk in it.Go into today remembering that God does not want you to be harsh and cruel. He wants you to treat people the way you would want to be treated, even those who are in the position of serving you.—Abraham Damilola ArigiTo Start getting Streamglobe earlier every:Join our WhatsApp Group: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JnqvSRyY3I2Ce13V18ZrEoJoin our Telegram Group: https://t.me/streamglobe1Bible In 1 Year: Job 25-26Streamglobe is interdenominational. Spiritual right to exert authority

1 John 2:3 (NET) Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.

Orji wondered why he would pray, fast, and still struggle to cast out a demon that Emaka wouldn’t even need to strain his voice to cast out. He came to realize that the reason for his little spiritual authority was because he wasn’t properly aligned to Christ’s authority.

When you read a Bible verse like today’s main text, you may wonder why in the New Testament, so much emphasis is still made on commandments. ‘Are we not now under grace and no more under the law?’ Yes, we are under grace, but being under grace does not mean being lawless. It means the grace of God empowers us to obey God’s law that He has now written upon our hearts because of the new covenant (see Heb 10:16). What this means is that a Christian is someone who is under God’s authority. He is not a ‘free moral agent’ but is under the absolute authority of the Lord Jesus.

Any man who is not living under authority has no spiritual right to exert authority. It may look as if the devil still has authority, but in reality, he has authority over only the members of his household. All authority has been given to our Lord Jesus Christ. He has the absolute authority over the heavens and over the earth. If you must exert spiritual authority, that authority must be the same authority that the Lord has. You cannot exert this authority if you are not operating under it. This is the real reason why demons do not respect some Christians. Demons do not respect people who have not actively aligned with the only spiritual authority that can cast them out. You align with this authority by living your life under the authority of Christ.

Go into today asking the Lord to help you properly align under His authority (read 1 Pet 5:6).—Abraham Damilola Arigi

The Fruit of the Spirit 9: Faithfulness

The Fruit of the Spirit 9: Faithfulness

Galatians 5:22 (NET) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulnessBefore Lanre gave his life to Christ, he was not a very honest person. When he was on campus, he had two girlfriends who didn’t know each other. They both believed he was their one and only. His word meant nothing to him. He only said the truth when it was convenient. But he never considered himself to be an unfaithful person.

After believing in the Lord Jesus and submitting to discipleship, he realized he could not continue in the old nature of sin and unfaithfulness. The more he understood the divine nature and sought to walk in it, the more repulsive lying and unfaithfulness were to him.

Because of this, his faith was strong, and his pursuit of the knowledge of God was very fruitful.

There are many believers whose spiritual endeavors are fruitless because they are faithless. An unfaithful person cannot be a faith-full person. Faith and faithfulness cannot be separated. Faith always produces faithfulness. Abraham was faithful to God because he had faith in God.

Go into today remembering that bearing the fruit of the Spirit means walking in the nature and character of God. God is faithful and so must we.—Abraham Damilola Arigi

    Overcoming lawlessness

    Overcoming lawlessness

Broadcast 3994Click here for the audio version:https://streamglobe.org/aud39941 John 3:6 (AMP) No one who abides in Him [who lives and remains in communion with and in obedience to Him — deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] commits (practices) sin. No one who [habitually] sins has either seen or known Him [recognized, perceived, or understood Him, or has had an experiential acquaintance with Him]

Dre realized that because of the robust fellowship he constantly had with the Holy Spirit, all his weaknesses and besetting sins were no longer an issue. But he realized that Satan did everything to get him out of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. He realized that the devil’s most potent tool was guilt. But he knew better, he knew that even when his conscience tried to condemn him, the Holy Spirit was greater than his conscience and would never leave him.

One big mistake many Christians make is that they think being filled with the Holy Spirit is something that should happen once in a while. Many Christians are victims of sins and spiritual weakness because they are hardly filled with the Spirit. They have no experience of fellowship with the Holy Spirit. They do not realize that the Holy Spirit was sent to be their comforter, counselor, teacher, helper, etc. These are intimate functions that we enjoy only when we are in constant fellowship with Him.

One thing you will understand when dealing with the Holy Spirit is His authority and government over you. You will know this intuitively, and you will discover that walking in close fellowship with Him removes the tendency of lawlessness in your heart. You can no longer do just anything or say anything. Your life becomes streamlined and narrowed to His will and government. This is what the narrow way really means.

As you go into today, do not forget that Christ dwells in you by His Spirit, and you dwell in Christ by allowing His word and will control you. This is the secret to a victorious winning life.

Thank the Lord for the grace to have fellowship with Him.—Abraham Damilola Arigi
