At War with Wellness & At Peace with Politics w/ Reggie Hubbard

At War with Wellness & At Peace with Politics w/ Reggie Hubbard

When’s the last time you’ve talked about wellness in politics? An unlikely pair and at the intersection of the two stand an unapologetically Black yogi with a gong named Reggie Hubbard on assignment to weave a collective web of healing & liberation.

In this episode we immerse ourselves in the power of “and” consciousness in order to create room for multiple perspectives to be held at once, something Reggie is a master at. An incredibly potent teachable moment happens around the 55 minute mark where Reggie breaks down a thought construct Shenna unconsciously brought into the conversation; make sure to tap in so you can experience the power of having someone help you hear what we can’t always hear for ourselves.

Reggie, founder of Active Peace Yoga, is on a liberation mission to make yoga more accessible to all - regardless of race, gender, body type or practice level - to form peace of mind and general wellbeing as a foundation, not an afterthought. Reggie is on purpose without apology in service to honoring the ancestors and planting seeds for our collective liberation.

Some of my favorite moments from this episode:

⚡ exploring how to be at war & peace at the same time

⚡ the part that our ancestors play in our future

⚡ dancing in the shadows between the darkness & light

⚡ identifying some toxicity in the wellness industry

⚡ language reframes that break down constructs that limit our perceptions

Slowing Down to Speed Up: Lessons from 2023 & Visions for 2024

Slowing Down to Speed Up: Lessons from 2023 & Visions for 2024

This is the messiest, most awkward & cringe, extremely humbling, raw, & vulnerable episode yet. There are so many parts of me that have been avoiding the call to talk on this topic, the perfectionist parts in me are mortified that we’re going through with it without editing or going back to “fix & tweak” things, and the darkness that lives within me is terrified at its exposure.

And I’m saying fu*k it, send it anyways.

In this episode I share my lessons from 2023 on healing from repressed childhood sexual trauma that surfaced in Dec 2022. This is the trigger warning and no details from the trauma are shared, just the process that I’ve been in since so that I am healed from it. I am beyond blessed that I have had people in my life that have been courageous enough to speak to their trauma and create a safe space for me to step into my healing journey with it; my intention & prayer is that this episode will do the same for someone else 🙏🏼 I trust that as more of us speak to our journeys it will help the whole to heal.

And it also clears the space for me to share more about what’s on tap for 2024 and the visions ahead. So much of my healing journey has been about going deep in my own work that I teach others and I’m ready to share and amplify it with the world in a whole new way, LFG.

Some of my favorite moments from this episode:

⚡getting it done & the completion energy from sharing

⚡normalizing something so many of people are struggling with

⚡stepping into 2024 with fresh AF energy to AMPLIFY
