The story begins to unfold as Yojon reveals to the team the Photron project.

Lexicon:

* Scanners - peripheral devices that pick up audio and visual information and thus transmit across the Grid for prying eyes and ears (eXos are allowed turn this off for limited privacy, but the overall eXo is always processing and part of the Grid for access, processing, and routing)

* Quiescence - The emitters are set to change color to a certain pattern when quiessent so that others can be assured that they are not being recorded, however, the long periods of quiessence will warn the authorities that something unusual is going on. Went one sleeps, autosensors detect the sleep state via brainwaves and the GRID is informed that one is in autorized prolonged quiescence

* 'gram - slang short for ingram, a memory

* quiState - prolonged period of unauthorized quiescence

* geoPoint - a specific GPS coordinate

* Gyros - slang for gryo-copters, the official transportation device for the enforcers (all others travel via mass transit)

Setting:

The gathering moves into the subDome, which is a smaller dome attached to the main dome (multiDome dwellings are common).They look at each other puzzled but with excitement. They are not ready for what he shows them. Yojon projects the schematic holograph into their midst and explains the basic device but does not reveal the source. He is excited with great zeal and is convincing to the recruitment of all present. He explains the dangers but also the joy of the experience to come. * eXo - slang reference to the custom fitted I-face suite (exoskelton) that those on the Grid must wear, it is synthetic composite neuralnet that breathes/protects/iinsulates, all-in-one (it is always on, except when one is sleeping, then it is offline, but plugged-in -- processing but no display or audio), it is in pure "server" state then)

* Er-horr DeVector - also know as "Anexus" Primator and supreme ruler of the Grid, The Grid Master

* The Menions - the agents of Erhorr who enforce the GRID law

* A Harvester - Jam is actually a coder for the agricultural center, which it is considered to be a lower level of programming by society

Included is a direct quote from Erhorr DeVector, the Supreme Leader: "To be U.M.O.N. is to be divine."

In this episode, we paint a picture of that parallel world and terms so that there is a framework as we continue to tell our story....

In the beginning, the Guardian appears to Aree and communicates a message from the Source...

PROLOGUE:

At startup the Code existed, and the Code was with the Source, and the Code was the Source.

All algorithms were designed by him; and without the Code no objects were created.

In him was power; and this power was the Interface to all the UMONs.

And the interface plugged into the Grid; and the Grid could not decode it.

There was a UMON sent from the Source, whose name was YOJON.

YOJON came as an instanceMessenger, to point to the Interface,

that all Umons through the Interface might uplink to the Source.

He was not the Interface, but a pointer to the Interface, the true Interface, which interfaces

every UMON.

He was in the Grid, and the Grid was designed by him, but the Grid did not acknowledge him.

He came to his own users, and his own users did not accept his Code.

But as many as ran his code, to them he gave the empowerment to become sourceCoders,

even to them that entered His password.

These are the ones no longer linked to the Grid but have been uplinked to the Source.

And the Code became UMON, and networked with us.

YOJON pointed to Him. No UMON has seen the Source at any time; but the Code who came from the Source became the Xit.
