The Power of Resilience
My name is Rebecca LeMasters, I grew up in rural Ohio, and attended technical colleges in SE Ohio for radio and television communication. I have always had the PR bug especially for “The Underdog” type stories. Somehow the advocate in me took over and I entered into a Registered Nursing program. Which led me into working for local Public Health settings and managing a local Homeless Shelter and Domestic Violence Home for women and children. My medical side has never gone too far out of the picture and I also landed in the field of Memory care as the Lead Director of a Dementia Care Unit for residents age 50 and older. This is where I learned I needed to research what the link was / is between Addiction and Alzheimer Disease and TBI seemed to be a big part of that equation. I entered back into KSU at a smaller branch and I transitioned into working inside of an Ohio Treatment Center for Addiction. Which four years later has landed me where I am today working for DreamLife Recovery as Regional Outreach Manager of NE Ohio stretching down to Dayton, Columbus, St. Clairsville, Toledo and branching into bordering states when necessary.
I love to travel and learn about different cultures and diversities here in the United States, and it’s a dream to do that all over the world. Until COVID is a thing of the past I’m just happy I’m happy for the outpouring of social media. It’s been a blessing in what I do, and for those trying to reach me for help.
I love to host events, especially recovery based. We just put on a Softball tournament “Swing for Recovery, CO-ED teams came from all over Ohio and DreamLife Sponsored. Networking with community leaders is a great way to educate one another on how to better one another and stop the stigma surrounding Addiction and Mental Healthcare.
In closing, I am married to someone in long term recovery and I feel it is one of the toughest things a couple can do when combining two different outlooks on Recovery. Thankfully I have had some strong Mentors in my life who have helped me progress in every way. We meet in the middle and keep out all of the unwanted noise and I am very proud to share my success story. Life is one day at a time , but having goals, meeting those goals and allowing people to see the struggle and success that can come with it is my definition of Living in Recovery and hopefully inspiring someone else to live here right beside me!

Racial Injustice and Mental Health
“I'm Asa (AYE-suh) Featherstone, IV. I create both short documentary and still photography that investigates the human experience by bringing new perspectives to things widely understood. I share work that feels personal and vulnerable in hopes that we learn more about one another and connect authentically. I take a lot of influence from family, skate culture, and music to help bring stories to life.”

Dr. Robb
Robb Kelly, PhD - The Recovery Expert - was born in Manchester England. He grew up in a family of musicians and developed a strong love for music at an early age. He was performing on stage at the age of nine. During his early twenties, he worked at the elite and influential Abbey Roads Studio, as a session musician in London.
Addiction was always close to his heart as Dr. Kelly was born into a family that had a history of alcoholism. He began drinking and using drugs at an early age, but he managed to stay on a path of success, moving to Oxford in the early 1980’s to pursue a PhD in Psychology at the prestigious University of Oxford. He continued to drink heavily during his time in Oxford – but still managed to complete his Doctorate studies, graduating with a PhD in psychology in 1984.
Even though he was a heavy drinker – no one would have predicted, that he would be living on the streets of Manchester, homeless and alone. He recalls the night where he had a staggering revelation when it came to his own alcoholism. It would later coin two of his most popular catch phrases: "The Problem is not our Drinking, it is our Thinking" and "Step out of the Disease, and into the Solution."
Dr. Kelly was standing on a street corner one night in Manchester. His body was shaking from alcohol withdrawal, and he stood in front of a liquor store, trembling, desperately waiting for the store to open. He knew that as soon as he drank that first sip of alcohol, he would feel relief.
As soon as the liquor store opened, he rushed into the store. The clerk grabbed a bottle of Vodka from the shelf, and placed it in a brown paper bag in front of him. As he lifted the bag in his hands his trembling stopped. His body stopped shaking and his mind rested at ease. He had not even taken that first sip; it was just the promise of alcohol that stopped his shaking and eased his restless mind.
THE AH-HA MOMENTThis was the moment that he refers to as his, "Ah-Ha" moment, –and he realized that the problem was not the alcohol, but how he thought about the alcohol.
Dr. Kelly would RECOVER from his disease. Living as a RECOVERED alcoholic, he made it his mission and life purpose to help other chronic addicts and alcoholics recover. Dr. Kelly has witnessed the miracle of recovery – he has worked with over five thousand addicts and alcoholics, who appeared just as desperate and hopeless as he did, and he has helped lead them to the solution of permanent recovery.
His personal slogan, "Step out of the disease, and into the Solution" was created from his own philosophy of recovery.
