001 - Unity in Diversity The Far East Deep South Story CCIC-SJ Conversations

    • Christendom

This is the the CCIC San Jose Conversations podcast where we discuss contemporary topics from an Asian American Christian perspective.
For our first episode, we touch on the topic of racial diversity and hear some practical tips on how to reconcile or cultivate more unity in our multi-ethnic communities.
Our host is Patric Chang, who serves as an Elder and in the Missions and Compassion ministry at CCIC San Jose. Our guests are Baldwin Chiu and Larissa Lam, the husband and wife team who co-produced the inspiring film entitled "Far East Deep South."  What began as a family vacation to visit an ancestor's grave unfolds into a tapestry of God's grace across multiple-generations and the unexpected shared history between the Chinese and African communities in Mississippi.LARISSA LAM is an award-winning filmmaker, recording artist and worship leader who has been in music and arts ministry for over 20 years. For nine years, she co-hosted a weekly talk show for Christian youth network, JCTV, along side prominent leaders like Rich Wilkerson, Jr. and has been a speaker at TEDx and Leadercast.
BALDWIN CHIU aka Only Won is a film producer, hip-hop artist and mechanical engineer whose family is the focus of the documentary, Far East Deep South. His family’s story has been featured on NBC News, LA Times and PBS. He and his wife, Larissa Lam, host the “Love, Discovery and Dim Sum” podcast
