#93 - Diving into the New Eden (Ex. 25-27‪)‬ Radically Normal

    • Christendom

In today’s episode we dive into an often-overlooked section of Exodus in which the Lord provides instructions for Israel to build the tabernacle—where God will dwell amongst His people.

In our tenth episode in the book of Exodus, we chat about Ex. 25-27:
A willingness to give & the use of riches from Egypt
Episode #44 on God’s presence
The tabernacle as a new Eden
The ark of the covenant & the holiness of God
The mercy seat—integral to the sacrifices & Lev. 16
The cherubim “gazing” toward the mercy seat
The table & the lampstand + symbolism: the tree of life
The curtains & the framing of the tabernacle
A potential connection between our text here & Rev. 18:16
Andrei’s investigation into acacia wood
The cherubim “guarding” the way into the presence of God
A change in substance (to bronze) as we move away from the Most Holy Place
The bronze altar & Yahweh’s camp in the midst of the people
The courtyard & the hangings around the enclosure
The oil & the light: Yahweh is always present & reigning
