In 2015, Robert Jason Owens implicated his uncle as the person who allegedly shot and killed 18-year-old Zebb Quinn in January of 2000.

A Good Kid: The Final Plea
Amid the Codd investigation, Robert Jason Owens, his legal team, and detectives meet to discuss a letter he wrote in 2015 detailing what happened to Zebb Quinn on January 2, 2000.
Owens implicates he’s Uncle Walter Eugene Owens as the killer, telling investigators his uncle was allegedly hired as a hitman because of Quinn’s involvement with a girl.
However, the case wouldn’t make it into a courtroom for seven years. Many of the people implicated in Jason’s story have passed away…days after Eugene Owens died, Jason is charged with First Degree Murder of Zebb Quinn.

A Good Kid: The Hollywood Murders
15 years since Zebb Quinn's disappearance, leads of the missing teen's whereabouts have dried up. The case would eventually go cold, and no one would where he was.
Robert Jason Owens would spend time in jail for DUIs and be released.
