The Cutaway: GINZA by morèno, Alf4zi
Mumbai-based producer morèno debuted his first Hindi single, GINZA in July 2020. A “floor-board rattling” rap song featuring MC Alf4zi, the track is laced over an old Japanese folk sample. The song was released via boxout.fm Recordings, as part of an endeavour to help promote new music. On this episode, we have Alf4zi and morèno taking us through the making of GINZA.

The Cutaway: Lift Off by T.ill APES
The title track of Bangalore-based band T.ill APES’ 2020 debut EP narrates the story of “six apes leaving Earth on their spaceship, intending on finding answers, recklessly waiting until all people evolve slightly”.
On this episode, we have drummer Sange Wangchuk, bassist Soorya Praveen, guitarist and producer Amrith Raghunathan, rapper Hanumankind and saxophonist Gautam David taking us through the song ‘Lift Off’ and what went into its making.

The Cutaway: Nangooram by Kelvikkuri
With a line-up that is stacked both in personnel, and in individual prowess, Kelvikkuri is an 8-piece multi-genre band from Bangalore. Their first single ‘Nangooram’ flits between jazz, trap, Carnatic, gospel, funk, and manages to squeeze every drop out of each genre in equal parts and finesse. On this episode, the band breaks apart the song and takes us through the story of how it came together.
