Have you ever felt at your worst and reached out to someone that you never would have if you weren't in such a desperate place for company? Have you ever received that text from an ex or old friend looking to reconnect, something seems fishy about it but you’re elated anyway. It’s almost as if you’ve been waiting by your phone the entire time for this very moment. Join me in this Attune episode as I talk about this very situation through the lens of attachment and Netflix comedy drama, Episodes (2011-2017).

Twin Flames: The Avoidant and Anxious Styles

Twin Flames: The Avoidant and Anxious Styles

The term "twin flames" is often used as a way to describe soul mates, or two parts of the same soul that were at one point separated. The anxious and avoidant styles are a bit like this. These two styles are often developed from similar childhood experiences and difficulties being intimate in relationships. Does this mean they belong together? I don't know about that one. But if you identify with either style, learning about what makes the other tick can help with self understanding which can lead to security. Can identifying the common traits of the two seemingly opposite styles support a healthier relationship with the self? Worth a try.
