    Patrocinio "Tia Patron" Villareal Gamboa: The Heroine of Jaro

    Born to a family of Illustrados, Tia Patron evaded the suspicion of the Spaniards while she carried out works for the revolutionaries of her region of Visayas. She was instrumental in the inauguration of the Revolutionary Government of Visayas by transporting the Philippine flag from one town to another without being detected by the Spanish guards by using her cleverness and courage.

    Marcos Regime September: Liliosa Hilao

    Liliosa Hilao was a student activist who was killed while under government detention during Martial Law in the Philippines, and is remembered as the first prisoner to die in detention during martial law in the Philippines. She was tortured and abused while in costudy at the age of 23 and 2 weeks away from graduation. We remember her story as the month of September, when Martial Law was declared and implemented 49 years ago, comes to an end.

    Simeona Punsalan-Tapang was the last living HUKBALAHAP Commander that fought against he Japanese Imperial Army during the Secong World War until her death in at age 92. She searved as the Captain, and later MAjor, of the group's "most battle-tested squadron" and wone many succesful battles against the Japanese.
