Behind The Curve The Pandemic Papers

Lavina, Ramya, and Parul evaluate proposed plans for the Fall 2020 semester as rolled out by government and college administrators. They cover the crossover between politics and science, the pros and cons of remote learning, and the business model of universities, as well as share their opinions on the reopening plans of their own universities.  (Note: this episode was recorded on 7/14/20). 

Moushumi, Sree, and Parul reflect on the recent momentum of the Black Lives Matter movement. The model minority myth, appropriation of the N word, and skin lightening products are all discussed in their relation to Black and South Asian communities.

In this introduction, six college students introduce themselves and provide an overview of Behind the Curve. Through the series, these students will take on their perspective of 2020, delving into themes of institutional change as it relates to their lives.
