#2430: Max and the Schnauzer

#2428: I Got a '94 West Bend Deluxe
If you've got an old British sportscar you'd probably call Car Talk about bad electronics. With an older GM car you probably have issues with your steering. But if you tell Click and Clack that you have a 1994 West Bend Deluxe Breadmaker that's churning out hockey pucks instead of brioche?.. #2427: The Guy Test
A few shows back, Click and Clack remarked that guys have a need to do stupid things sometimes -like driving through blinding snowstorms in order to pick up a few extra lightbulbs. And wouldn't you know that a PHD somewhere has seen fit to measure 'Guy-ness' with a quick, multiple-answer quiz. Find out if you're a 'real guy' on this episode of the Best of Car Talk.Get access to hundreds of episodes in the Car Talk archive when you sign up for Car Talk+ at plus.npr.org/cartalk

Out-of-the-(gear)box-thinking
This should be used as training material for root-cause analysts and 5-why questioning. I as amazed how their effective questioning was on callers issues.
I love it!
Blocked ventilation outlets causing water to build up behind the dash, setting fire to the car is the only reasonable solution for Madagascar cockroaches intended as a birthday gift that are now infesting a BMW X5, fixing your car yourself in front of the dealer on a Sunday so that you won't have to tow it there on Monday if your efforts fail .... Nobody in their right mind would come up with these situations except for Tommy and Ray and the people calling in.
I love it !
It was about time to have the best NPR show in a PodCast
I got hooked into CarTalk when I lived in the Big Easy, and it became a ritual to waste a perfectly good hour every weekend.
Then when I jumped the pond and moved to The Netherlands, it was very sad not to have car talk on the radio, though I managed through with listening to the programme from their website. Then I made it a ritual to do the laundry while listening to the programme, thereby making a tedious task more entertaining.
Beware: It is an addictive programme, but it sure is one of the most entertaining ways to spend an hour every week!
I'm very glad to be able to take the programme with me with on my ipod. I have been eagerly awaiting this moment, and now it finally arrived.
Hurray!
