Our podcast agency, The Creative Impostor Studios, was FINALIST in the 2023 Signal Awards for Key Change, the podcast we produce for the Santa Fe Opera, a behind the scenes pass into the issues, stories, and artists creating the next generation of American opera.
We WON in 2 different award categories -
Best Music Show - Bronze
Best Diversity Equity and Inclusion Episode - Silver
It's for an episode called "Telling Hard Truths", chronicling the day before the world premiere of This Little Light of Mine, an opera based on the life and legacy of voting rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer. That episode is especially meaningful to me because we were able to record with Fannie Lou’s daughter, Jacqueline Hamer Flakes months before she passed away this year.
I have NEVER submitted any of our work to a podcast contest before and I chose Signal as our first one because of their incredible, diverse and reputable panel of judges and because of their accessibility for and inclusion of independent producers alongside corporate network shows.
As a Signal Finalists Key Change has been singled out as one of the best in the industry in its category (meaning it’s among the highest scored work of nearly 2,000 podcasts entered) and their awesome panel of judges will determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze awards.

Thank you to everyone for your support this year!
We are so proud to be recognized among the industry's best in class audio experiences.
But more importantly, excited to have this platform to generate more visibility for the podcast, the voices, and the stories that are highlighted through this collaborative work. I would love if add Key Change to your listening queue and let me know what you think! It’s about so much more than opera.
