    Back this week with our friends from Hoppin Brands.  Their latest venture Pinhouse has been open in the Plaza Midwood neighborhood for a few months and features Charlotte’s first set up for Duck Pin bowling.  Utilizing the self-pour system of beer taps in all of their locations, these guys are doing something right here in Charlotte with a few new concepts in the works. 

    We also talk with Mel Fox from Work For Your Beer to get the scoop on how her and co-founder Alicia Valenski started the website to give Charlotteans a home to find both exercise and beer in Charlotte.

    The Cheers Charlotte crew sat down with Mike Smoak and Andrew Viapiano, co-founders, from Middle James Brewing. Andrew is a native of South Burlington, VT.  He earned his American Brewers Craft Brewers Apprenticeship Diploma.  He was working at a Charlotte brewery when he met Mike Smoak when he won The Cheers Charlotte Capture the Crown Homebrew Competition.     The Cheers Charlotte crew sat down with Alex Shoenthal and Tim Curtis (co-founders) of Charlotte’s latest brewery- Lower Left Brewing. We visited the taproom and toured the brewing facility and later sat with, co-founder and head brewer, Alex Shoenthal. Alex talked about what to expect from the tap list. We talked about his roots as a homebrewer and the challenges of going pro. We also heard the history and inspiration for the brewery from Tim. We’re excited to welcome Lower Left Brewing to the Charlotte craft beer family.
