In this episode of the podcast series, Barsha and Mon share their personal stories and experiences of intergenerational conflict with their families and community. They also explore their lived experience further through the intersectional lens, dissecting the impacts of intergenerational conflict across race, culture, gender and caste. ‘I think one of the reasons that Nepal, well maybe the refugee camps we both lived in, were culturally rich, was… I think because of our poverty, and this is not to undermine the strength of Nepalese/Bhutanese culture in binding people together’. In this heartfelt conversation, Barsha and Mon takes you on a journey of navigating culture across continents, sharing some joyful and some thought-provoking experiences and the realisation of deeper connection with culture for their holistic thriving.

Storytelling is a powerful tool to enable connection and social transformation within communities. In this Citizen Power Resettlement episode, Barsha and Mon will explore their resettlement in a foreign land they now call home and share their lived experience of the journey from refugee camp in Nepal to Tasmania’s government quarters. Vulnerability and honesty is what they bring to this conversation to enable global connection with people experiencing/ed displacement and their allies across diverse communities.

Emotions are powerful because mobiles us into action, when we feel rage at a particularly injustice some of us choose to stand against it, bearing the risk of being unpopular and for some even the risk of losing their lives to change it.  Others chose to walk by carrying on with their lives. All over the world governments are spending billions of dollars to keep the economy functioning.
