The Business of Fonio | Exporting Nigerian Products

The exportation business is one very massive business that has a huge value on the economy of importer and exporter.  Exports are important because they offer a country a broader market for its goods. Exports and imports are also essential because they contribute to the growth and development of national economies.  Considered to be the oldest cereal in West Africa, Fonio is an ancient African grain.

The name fonio was borrowed from French into English which is from Wolof foño. It is called findi or fundi in areas of Africa, such as Gambia, with common name in English white fonio, fonio millet, and hungry rice or acha rice, and it is a grass species.

It is a high nutritional food rich in taste and healthy for consumption. Grown and cultivated in the West African countries mainly and also consumed mostly by them. It is most common in regions that have many mountains in some of these African countries. Countries like Mali, Burkina faso, Nigeria, Guinea and Senegal. But in all of these countries, Guinea produces the most fonio in the world annually, accounting for over 75% of the world's production in 2019 according to google.

The Nigeria exportation business is a good, befitting thriving, and expansive business, big enough for different people to venture into.
