Hey everyone, welcome to another bonus episode!
We have a really fun discussion for you today about our favorite Stephen King adaptations. However, before we get to that, we wanted to take a moment to talk about the recent events in Texas and Ukraine.
This is a tough time, and it’s easy to feel frustrated and powerless. If you want to help and are financially able, there’s a lot of great organizations that could really use your help. We have links below and on our website to a variety of organizations fighting to combat the recent laws targeting trans children in Texas, or providing help to those impacted by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
This is a difficult time for a lot of people, but it’s important to remember that even small acts of kindness and charity can mean the world to someone.
Thank you very much, and with that, let’s talk about Stephen King!

    Eerie Earfuls 2.B.2: Scream Retrospective!

    Eerie Earfuls 2.B.2: Scream Retrospective!

Welcome to 2022 and a new episode of Eerie Earfuls!
Thank you for your patience while we got some life things sorted and know we're working hard to have more episodes coming to you starting in late spring or early summer.
In this bonus episode, in honor of the release of Scream (2022), Justin and his wife Stephanie take a look back on the Scream franchise and share their thoughts on each of the five movies as well as their thoughts on the series as a whole. Spoilers abound, especially for the newest one, so watch out!
Have a seat, pop in a Blockbuster video, put some Jiffy Pop on the stove, and don't answer the phone while we talk about the Scream film franchise.

Eerie Earfuls 2.3: In the Mouth of Madness & Ghost Stories (2017)

Eerie Earfuls 2.3: In the Mouth of Madness & Ghost Stories (2017)

In this episode, we discuss the influence of point of view on stories and movies presented as stories. Gather around the campfire and prepare for a spooky story as we discuss the 1995 cosmic horror In the Mouth of Madness and the 2017 supernatural drama Ghost Stories.
Plus, we discuss Stephen King, the way the human brain processes stories and beliefs, and the way both movies use their scores to different ends.

Eerie Earfuls 2.2: Fido & Warm Bodies

Eerie Earfuls 2.2: Fido & Warm Bodies

We're back with episode 2! This was originally meant to be a bit of a Valentine's Day tie-in, but whatever! In this episode, Justin's wife Stephanie (Episode 6: The Babadook & Elm Street 2010) joins us as we discuss the semi-recent trend of humanizing zombies by comparing two zombie romances. Shuffle along with us as we discuss the 2006 horror comedy Fido, and the 2013 teen romance Warm Bodies.

Plus, we discuss how shitty capitalism is, zombies as a metaphor for minorities, and really dig into the symbolism and themes of both movies.

Eerie Earfuls 2.1: The Birds & Maximum Overdrive

Eerie Earfuls 2.1: The Birds & Maximum Overdrive

Welcome to season 2!!! Sorry about the delay getting this out. As is fitting for episode 13, we have had several production issues, but we're doing our best to catch up!
In this episode, we discuss how much Hitchcock sucked as a person, wildly dangerous film sets, and how music, or the lack thereof, can influence tone and mood. Get trapped with us as we discuss the 1963 horror thriller The Birds, and the 1986 vehicular horror comedy Maximum Overdrive.
Plus, we discuss cocaine and how story adaptations diverge from their sources.
A quick note just in case: We discuss some legal allegations and court cases in this episode, and we give our opinions on those cases and allegations. Just be aware these are only our opinions and we are not lawyers, legal scholars, nor do we have any direct insight or connections into what we discussed. We just discussed what we read about online and gave our opinions.

Eerie Earfuls 1.B.1: Halloween Special! (EE Classic)

Eerie Earfuls 1.B.1: Halloween Special! (EE Classic)

Hey everyone! October really got away from us. Brandon got sick. Justin helped plan and run a virtual literary convention. And it's the hell year, so what is time anyway?
Since what would've been the October episode isn't ready, here's a bonus episode that we released for Halloween back in 2018. That's right, another Eerie Earfuls Classic episode! In this one, we borrow a list of criteria from Scream 101 and make our own "31 Days of Halloween" lists. Then, Justin challenges Brandon to a game called "Real Shit or Fake Shit?"
    Enjoy, and happy Halloween!
