Episode 1: The Blatant Bias in the Mainstream Media - The Lack of Diversity @ the 2018 Emmy Awards (*TRUTH ALERT*‪)‬ Random Ruminations of a Millenial

Many people are upset because the list of award winners at the 2018 Emmy's wasn't 'diverse' enough. As a 'person of color', I'm getting tired of hearing about this topic being brought up when it isn't warranted. Because without properly looking into the cause of certain outcomes, it's very easy to jump to conclusions; and because I'm such a Great Samaritan, I'm going to show you why the diversity issue in American film & TV media is an exaggerated problem.

Long story short: much like racism and sexism, diversity has become a lucrative topic to talk about because of the emotional response it evokes and therefore has become a vehicle and commodity of virability and media engagement. Because of this, many journalists are no longer reporting the complete truth because they fear that it won't be a popular read amongst the target market. Fair enough, but I hope these populist writers understand that their unbalanced articles are skewing the minds of their readers in the direction of nonsense. OH WELL..
