The Portuguese trading outpost in Calicut has been destroyed. In the night a vast mob attacked, razed it, and killed nearly everyone inside. Pedro Cabral orders his ships to bring their canons to bear on the city. Diplomacy has ended and now there is only need for revenge. The Portuguese commander looks back at his men and then shouts the order, " Open Fire!"

Love this podcast. As an admirer of history, I find the content superb. Also the narrator has a great voice and is very pleasant to listen. Even after listening to the story I tend to rewatch the episode on youtube. My only regret is that I did not find it earlier.
