Ep: 05 The World Needs More Lights With Andru Sisson

This episode I sit down with Andru Sisson, who I have dubbed "The New Age, Black Contemporary Painter". Fresh off the success of his second exhibition in LA, titled "Black Privilege" we get an exclusive, and candid talk about his work, challenges he faces as a Black artist in a predominantly White industry, navigating newfound success and avoiding the pitfalls and perils that come with it. Lastly, we speak about the role his mother has played in not only his life, but in and through his art. Like Andru, I too, lost my mother to breast cancer and we talk openly about losing a parent, the impact of loss and how it continues to shape us internally and artistically. Read up on Andru, and check out his past interviews and see his most recent works from Ivory Gold Slaves to Black Privilege here: https://www.ln-cc.com/en/feed-artist-series-andru-sisson-feature/feed-artist-series-andru-sisson-feature.html https://www.tappancollective.com/collections/andru-sisson http://www.anothermag.com/art-photography/9340/tappan-presents-new-york-based-painter-andru-sisson Follow him on Instagram @Andrusisson www.Andrusisson.com Episode sponsors: MONSIEURSHARP.com follow them on Instagram for product updates @Monsieursharp Mr. Shea, Shea Butter follow them on Instagram @My_Mr_Shea and visit Mymrshea.com Music Production courtesy of @SuedeJuryMusic Follow us on Twitter @FTWKnow & Follow me personally @Jearysylves Any questions, suggestions or just want to shout us out? Ep: 04 You Went On A Date With Erykah Badu? (Dating Panel Part 1)

This episode features our first panel discussion! In it I sit down with a few close friends to talk about dating and relationships. The panel shares some personal experiences as well and lend some perspective on dating rituals, how social media changed the game, learned behaviors and ultimately what we want. We end with a QNA segment with questions sent in from listeners of the show! What I really enjoyed about this conversation is that not everyone agreed--- Some challenged each other and and even took them to task. I really appreciated everyone's candor and honesty. This is really only the beginning, I look forward to continuing this series! look out for Part 2, which will feature an all women panel and we get their side of it. In truth, I feel like most of us (men) actually know very little about women--- This is our feeble attempt to make sense of that little. 3. Ep: 03 Chasing The Power of Laughter with Abe Cox

Ep: 03 Chasing The Power of Laughter with Abe Cox

This episode I sit down with Chicago based comic Abe Cox & things get amazingly weird! We travel down the rabbit hole and laugh the entire way through--- discussing everything from his early beginnings as an upstart on ASU's campus, to earning his comedic chops, what it takes to keep his girlfriend happy, who was the first Black President in a movie and learning difficult lessons on Chicago's Southside. We even talk about depression and the darker side of comedy but also the power of laughter, how it connects us all and the role comedy plays in our society. Throughout this episode we drop an insane amount of TV & movie references and we took some time to discuss and unpack Jordan Peele's recent thriller Get Out! *SPOILER ALERT* I even ask Abe what his Top 5 Black comedies were, We're still undecided. So help us out, and tells us yours! Had a lot of fun this episode, plenty of jokes and much needed laughter after a few shitty weeks lol Follow Abe Cox on the socials @Abecox (IG) & @ItsAbeCox (Twitter) As always, let me know your thoughts--- Please rate, review and share! Ep: 02 Love Is The Purest Form of Activism With Yve Pierre

This episode I sit down with my friend Yveka "Yve" Pierre She's a Romantic Poet, Activist, Feminist & an NYC Criminal Defense Lawyer! Illustrious B also stops by to lend some commentary. We discuss Yve's early beginnings, moving from Haiti at a young age, growing up in Florida and how those experiences ultimately shaped her as well as what led her down the path towards Law, Justice & Activism. Also touching on the 9th Circuit Court of appeals decision and the executive order on immigration that continues to affect the lives of many people. On a lighter tip, we play a few rounds of "Black Ass History" courtesy of Black Card Revoked in honor of Black History Month! and round things off talmbout love, relationships and how wack Tinder is. (*Full Disclosure* This is a long episode, but it's worth it! We laughed all the way through. Yve also said if you live in Brooklyn, hit her up! She'll buy you a round for listening.)
