    #336 Why Craig Jones had to submit his opponent twice

    This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap Pit Submission 4 headlined by Craig Jones submitting Rinat Fakhretdinov twice in one match. Plus Kaynan Duarte vs Pouya Rahmani. Then we preview the stacked BJJ Stars 12 card. 

    In the news section we talk about PJ Barch getting an ADCC 2024 invite and Dante Leon also getting an invite both at the -77kg division. 

    In the recap section we talk about and break down how and Craig Jones VS  Rinat Fakhretdinov ended in such weirdness we talk about how we saw Rinat tap in the initial triangle, and then after the reset, the finishing mechanics that Craig used from mount to put Rinat to sleep. We discussed some of the other sequences that occurred during the match and speculate, if Craig will be at ADCC this year.

    In the recap of Kaynan Duarte vs Pouya Rahmani, we talk about the game plan for both athletes, and the general lack of activity in the guard, as well as the two sequences that most likely gave Pouya the win. 

    We also break down Zayed Alkatheeri v Osamah Almarwai, in a very fun back and forth, match that saw Zayed end up with a Viktor after some fantastic offense and Armbar attempts.

    We also, break down the finals of Midwest Finishers talking about Layla Watkins fantastic submission performances all by Leglock in the later rounds to take the whole tournament. We also discuss Andrew DeGraff overtime victory in the finals to become a two time champion.

    In the preview section of the show, we talk about the BJJ Stars 12 medium heavy Grand Prix featuring some fantastic names that will be matched up by picking names out of a hat, adding to the excitement of the event. We also break down a number of super fights and matchup changes that have occurred on the card recently.

    In the outro section of the show the hosts discuss getting the other to play dungeons and dragons this coming week.

    This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap Kade and Tye Ruotolo One FC title defenses both winning by the same arm in RNC "The Ruotolotine" We also recap Subversion in NSW, Australia headlined by Ffion Davies vs Nikki Lloyd- Griffiths, and Keith Krikorian matches on  Arte Suave and Subversive X. Plus a little on UFC 300 in the outro. 

    In the news section we discuss Micah Galvao being invited back to ADCC at -77kg. 

    In the recap section we discuss One Fight Night 21 Tye Ruotolo vs Izaak Michell that saw Tye like his brother win the welterweight title with a head and arm choke from back, after an insane takedown reversal counter. 
    The we discuss Kade Ruotolo defeating Francisco Lo with the same head and arm choke from back. Plus touch on some of the more wild sequences of the match. 

    In the recap of Subversion in NSW, Australia we recap Ffion Davies defeating Nikki Lloyd- Griffiths with an armbar from the back triangle, after a nice passing sequence and transition to take the featherweight title. 

    We recap Ash Williams victory over Ali El Kheir for the Lightweight title that saw Ash win a decision. Plus we recap Adele Fornarino defeating Olivia Ukmar for the Flyweight title with a textbook Armbar from the high guard.

    In the recap of Arte Suave we talk about Keith Krikorian vs Albert Morales that saw Keith go Choi bar to kneebar, and we recap Keiths Subversive match that was 12 seconds ending in another leg lock. 

    In the preview section of the show we talk about Karate Combat 45- Pit Submission Series 4 headlined by Craig Jones vs. Rinat “Gladiator” Fakhretdinov a Russian UFC Welterweight with a stunning 21-1 record.

    We break down every name in the mens and women's divisions. We talk about all the announced champions for 2022 we will likely see including Diogo 'Baby Shark' Reis, Kade Ruotolo, and Kaynan Duarte who have all been confirmed.  We discuss Giancarlo Bodoni, and Gordon Ryan not being confirmed yet and if Gordon will do both a division and the superfight. For the women Ffion Davies, and Amy Campo in new divisions possibly.

    At +65kg we talk about Nia Blackman the European Trials winner, Maria Ruffato the South American Trials winner, and Elizabeth Mitrovic the West Coast Trials winner.

    We also talk about who is going to potentially get invited for ADCC 2024 based on trials results and previous showings.

    #333 ADCC West Coast Trials 2024 Recap Every Final

    This week on the show Maine and Miranda recap every ADCC North American Trials final for the 2024 qualifier. We also preview One FC Tye vs Michell and Kade vs Lo, and Subversive Ffion vs Griffith.

    In the news section of the show we discuss Ethan Crelinsten receiving an ADCC invite for -66kg. 

    In the recap section of the show we talk about every West Coast 2024 ADCC Trials final. 

    Kicking off the recap with Men's -66kg divisio Deandre Corbe vs Keith Krikorian 
    With Deandre berimbilo roll to back take and score 3 points then scoring again with the hooks for another 3 points to punch his ticket to the ADCC World Championships in 2024. 

    In -77kg we saw Andrew Tackett vs Oliver Taza
    With Andrew Tackett proving everyones pick correct pulling a flying triangle to wrestle up and inversion early in the match then diligent counter wrestling and takedowns to score points and earn his trials qualifying slot

    In the -88kg division we saw a rematch between William Tackett vs Jay Rodriguez
    With Tackett comeing out quick and jumping the back and Jay Rod reversing to top before the points. Shortly after we see Jay Rod escape side control off of a takedown and Tackett pulls reverse mount into the legs to hit a double one armed toe hold finish just 3:05 into the match. 

    In -99kg with  Adam Bradley vs Michael Pixley
    We talk about the sweep, and lack of points scored. We talk about how Pixley back take turned into a half guard to deep half to sweep, and that the sweep comes down to the control, and you think that Adam controlled for 3 seconds or only 2.5 seconds in bursts. 

    In +99kg we talk about David Vs Goliath in Vince Pezzutto vs Mike Perez
    With Mike countering a shot from Vince with head and arm then essentially cow catchers early. Then in OT Perez with better snap downs and a guillotine snap on a guard pull for at least 40 seconds, followed by a scramble by Perez up to not get the -1 
    The Perez taking the clean decision (as the small guy). 

    In the Women's -55kg division we see Jasmine Rocha vs Alex Enriquez
    With Jasmine winning by RNC in 7:32. We talk about how Jasmine used the shoulder and chest kick wrestle up (like her dad) used with a leg pick for points and a back take. We also talk about all the improvements that Jasmine has made recently in her game and over the past few years since her early trials runs. 

    At -65kg we talk about the East Coast ADCC Trials 2023 rematch of Helena Crevar vs Mo Black
    With Crevar working an Uchi Mata early and hitting an inverted roll through to the leg entries then a sweep into the points hits right after, with Crevar intercepting Mo sitting back to come up for 2 with very (good timing) then her wrestling a front snap down followed by a nice turn over to mount to win the match 6-0 for Crevar. 

    In +65kg in Amanda Leve vs Elizabeth Mitrovic
    We talk about the pace of Amanda and her aggression. Then talk about Amanda potential ACL injury or leg injust late in the match with Mitrovic taking the world championship slot.

    In the preview section we talk about One FC matchups and Subversion. 

    In the outro we discuss traveling to the solar Eclipse in 2024 and recording an ADCC qualifiers show.

    In the recap section of the show we talk about the Polaris GP and Superfights. We talk about PJ Barch impressive run and Levi Jones Leary Berimbolo game. As well as the other bracket matches. 

    In the superfight section we talk about Ffion Davies v. Brianna Ste-Marie a rematch from ADCC. We talk about Ffion strategy and how she was able to control the dynamics of the match.

    #331 Polaris 27 GP & IBJJF 2024 Pans Preview

    This week on the show Maine and Miranda preview the Polaris 27 GP, and the 2024 IBJJF Pan Championships. 

    In the preview of the Polaris GP we talk about the welterweight GP entrants and how we believe they should be seeded.  We talk about where PJ Barch should sit as the 1 or 2 seed  followed closely by also fighting for the 1 or 2 seed Jozef Chen as a recent ADCC trials willer.  Recent Brazilian trials winner Luiz Paulo, and ADCC European trials silver medalist Davis Asare, plus Max Hanson  the holder of the most regional belts in Jiu Jitsu across multiple weight classes, and the Polaris Qualifier Harrison Woods, plus long time Gi players Espen Mathiesen and Levi Jones-Leary round out the bracket. 

    We also discuss the superfight between Ffion Davies and Brianna Ste-Marie a rematch of ADCC 2022 finals. With the changes of both camps and how the rematch may go. 

    Plus we also discuss Keith Krikorian superfight on the card. 

    In our preview of IBJJF 2024 Pans we run through all the Black Belt Adult brackets and talk about the divisional frontrunners and the most likley to take Pans gold. Plus some interesting rematches, and some matches we want to watch out for.
