She is currently a lead researcher on a project conducted by MIT's Digital Currency Initiative (DCI) and Maiden Labs, funded by Financial Services for the Poor at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, focused on whether and/or how central bank digital currency (CBDC) may influence financial inclusion for low- and middle-income populations in India, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Mexico.
