Two bigs wins capped a season of accomplishments for Niels Vandeputte of Alpecin Deceuninck. After overcoming an off-season injury, he raced more times than any other rider in 2023/2024 all while balancing college studies with the Kersperiode, managing final exams with his World Championship preparation, and still having a enough gas in the tank to race in February. This is the story of a true cross racer.

In less than one week, he takes the startline at the World Championship for the 11th time in his career.  His approach has been a bit different, only racing a short three-race block in Europe (as opposed to his traditional heavy 10-12 race schedule during the legendary Kerstperiode).
