    ABC Murders

    ABC Murders

On today’s episode of the mom podcast series, Mike talks about a serial killer on the loose, working his way through the alphabet, making his way through the country. Hercule Poirot, the world-renowned Belgian private detective, respected and admired by police forces and heads of state across the globe takes lead on this murder mystery case. Everyone is in a state of panic but Mike jots down key suspects that might have to do with these twisted murders. When Poirot receives an unsettling letter, the wheels of the plot are set in motion. A is for Mrs. Ascher in Andover, B is for Betty Barnard in Bexhill, C is for Sir Carmichael Clarke in Churston. There are no apparent witnesses, nor is there any useful evidence but Mike talks about the potential clues. The killer is deliberately teasing Poirot with clues and the country is up in arms. Packed with red herrings, clever misdirection and narration switching between first and third person, there's alot going on here. Mike also discusses how the ABC Murders is a Fair-Play Mystery. He notes Poiret’s use of inductive and deductive reasoning to arrive at the truth. The quest is not just a whodunnit but also who the next victim will be and how far down the alphabet will it get.
