Terrible voice
Mafia Tapes is a podcast that starts off with great promise, exploring the intriguing subject of the mafia. However, it quickly becomes apparent that the host’s voice doesn’t quite match the expectations one would have for such a topic. The podcast presenter’s voice is not pleasant to listen to, which detracts from the overall experience.
One missed opportunity in this podcast is the absence of actual recordings featuring individuals from the mafia themselves. The scripted storytelling by the host lacks the authenticity and suspense that would arise from hearing firsthand accounts from members of the underworld. It would have been much more engaging to listen to the mafia speaking for themselves, with their own intonations and emotions.
