    Episode 0 - An Introduction

    Episode 0 - An Introduction

    Episode Notes

My name is Josh King, I own Adena Marketing, a small digital marketing business in the Huntington, West Virginia area. I've been working in marketing, professionally, for about 10 years or so, but I've been involved in other business ventures over the years that has helped me along the way.

    What's behind the name?

Funnily enough, this name actually stems from an experience at one of my early business networking experiences, where when someone asked me what I do, I answered, "I work in marketing….things." and when coming up with a name for this podcast, that memory stuck out to me. It's simple, to the point, and describes exactly what this podcast is about - I don't know what you want to market, it could be anything, so what is the catch all term for anything and everything? "things".

    Developing a style

I can't say or promise that this podcast will be polished and professional, mostly due to the time constraints involved with running my business, so it will most likely be "organized chaos", but I intend for that to get better over time. Like everyone, I still struggle with my ummms, ahhhs, and filler words. That is something that even professional broadcasters struggle with, so like I said, I can't promise that it will be perfect. Bear with me on that. We'll develop this together.

    How long will episodes be?

I don't intend for this podcast to be hours long. Some podcasts are an hour, some are 30 minutes, some are 2 hours. I want to give myself enough time to cover a particular topic, as well as Q&A episodes, so I'm just going to say that at this point, I'm not completely sure. It could be anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour. We'll feel things out as we go.

    Lists of topics/guests

I've been curating a list of sorts, of topics, guests, and interviews for the last few months. I don't want to reveal too much, other than I'm in the middle of getting in contact with some interesting people I'd like to have on this show. Some friends of mine are planning on getting involved as well, so don’t be surprised when you hear two voices on some episodes (as time permits), they're all mostly local business owners.
