The Intelligence: Mandela’s vision, tested
Thirty years of democracy have not led to uniform prosperity, and nearly everyone disagrees about the equality of opportunity. How will the disenchantment manifest at the polls? How two small Texas towns became the patent-law centre of America (12:16). And a tribute to Eleanor Coppola, mastermind of the award-winning behind-the-scenes look at her husband’s epic, “Apocalypse Now” (19:26).

The Intelligence: Our meeting with Macron
France’s president is known for pronouncements of grand scope with one eye toward history. But when our journalists visited him at his residence his assessment of the state of the world was bleak—a dark, prophetic call to arms. In this special episode, we ask whether his view is accurate, whether his proposed solutions would work and whether he is the person to enact them.

Checks and Balance: Chaos on campus
Student protests and encampments have mushroomed across America. Some students fear for their safety and more than 2,000 people have been arrested, as police in riot gear clear campuses. What do these protests mean for free speech, and what impact will they have on November’s election?
Charlotte Howard hosts with James Bennet and Idrees Kahloon. The Economist’s Daniella Raz and John Prideaux also contribute.

Klantrecensies
Informative and interesting
Every day this podcast is interesting and relevant. I like that there is a segment at the end of every daily episode that is something completely different from the news. Something about art, or a custom from different countries
Disappointed but not surprised - bias on Palestine
The Economist's podcast excels in dissecting global economic trends, political movements, and cultural shifts, with fun hosts who adeptly translate complex topics into engaging discussions. However, its coverage on Israel-Palestine is a notable exception. Here, the podcast displays a discernible bias in a manner uncharacteristic of its otherwise high-quality reporting. I trust that this regrettable trend will correct in time, but I hope that it doesn’t take years and lead to irreparable damage.
Fantastic insight
A wonderful collection of podcasts, hosted by many world experts, providing insight into all manner of topics.
