How do you maintain a sense of home when you’re on the road? Musicians go where the music takes them. It can be hard to feel at home when you change cities every day, moving from hotel room to hotel room. But little traditions might help some artists with settling into a new place. Music Meeting asks them: ‘what does home mean to you and are there any traditions that make you feel closer to it?’.

Spending many hours in transit, running low on proper sleep and choosing means of travel and accommodation based on budget, not many artists have ever been in a position to travel first class for five hours sitting next to the passenger of their dreams. One of the many perks of going on tour is the opportunity for artists to discover new cultures. Local music and art, but also different languages, customs and traditions. Our purpose in life. Some were born knowing it, some actively search for it their whole lives, others stumble upon it by accident.
