Probably today we will find out if Children’s Minister Karen Chhour will have to front up to a summons from the Waitangi Tribunal about repealing Section 7AA of the Orange Tamariki Act. The right decry this as unfair but the reality is, unlike another Māori led initiative for Māori, this has measurable positive results already happening which raises questions about the reasons behind repealing it.
