Pop Conspiracy Junkies 2: Live at Phoenix Fan Fusion
The Junkies return to Phoenix Fan Fusion, this time to record a live episode that takes them back to that most controversial – and fun – topic of conspiracy theories. This time Olivia and Shauna are helped by the audience, who tell us shocking information about Hailey Bieber, and slightly less shocking information about Margot Robbie. But first, why do conspiracy theories, pop culture or otherwise, exist? What human needs do they fulfill? And why can’t Lea Michelle read? Shauna and Olivia cover a a few conspiracy theories, from the light to the dark to the very dark, and give you their takes on the veracity of these stories of vehicular manslaughter, human sacrifice, and governmental coverups. Are they false, or is that just what they want you to think?

Brad Perry Wants a Stalker!
The Junkies welcome back friend-of-the-pod and honorary Junkie Brad Perry to the show, and though it has been two years since Brad was last on the show, it seems like no time has passed. Unlike Shauna, Olivia is meeting Brad for the first time on this episode, but they become instant friends. Brad, known best in the Phoenix area as the Emmy Award-winning host of The Daily Mix morning show, is truly a multi-hyphenate. He hosts his own podcast, Things Men Don’t Talk About, he’s working on producing some films, and he’s also making a documentary about what it takes to become an underwear model…by becoming an underwear model, a la Marky Mark. And if that weren’t enough, he has time to advise Olivia and Shauna on how to find a great guy with a great boat. And to return the favor, the Junkies teach Brad how to attract more stalkers, and about fan-fiction, prompting him to ask everyone listening to start writing stories featuring him. Through his podcast, film work, and long career in television, Brad has managed to interview everyone from Marlon Wayans to Oprah, so he has a ton of great stories to tell. Catch him now, because the next time you’ll see him it will be on a billboard in Times Square!

Vacation Movies All I Ever Wanted
Nicole or, as Shauna and Olivia dub her, Australian Barbie, has finally returned from the other side of the world and has such stories to tell. Television Spinoffs: The Ones That Worked and the Ones That Didn't with Hayley the Brave
Junkie Emeritus Hayley the Brave joins Olivia and Shauna for a reunion episode and though Hayley and Olivia have only just met, they instantly bond over the new Taylor Swift album. Shauna also has opinions on Tortured Poets Department, and the three debate which songs are (among) their favorites. Then Hayley brings up the topic she came here to discuss: Television spinoffs. A devoted fan of The X-Files, Hayley’s not sure how to feel about Ryan Coogler’s upcoming spinoff/reboot, but as they say on the show, she “wants to believe.” The Junkies discuss what makes a spinoff work or not work. Why did Angel, for example, turn out so much better than Joey? (To pick a really bad example.) Then the talk moves on to The Walking Dead, which has as many spinoffs as Saturn has moons. Well, almost. And though some of them really work, some kind of don’t. But aren’t we all happy to know that somehow, Daryl Dixon ended up in Paris? Yes, we are.

Separating the Art from the Artist
Shauna wants to add LARPing to her nerd repertoire - hey, is that what Nicole is out doing now? Probably not. Olivia is still in her Taylor era - not surprising as this is the time to indulge in all things Swift and Shauna's been using a SIMS game to bring back The Spice Girls. Then the two talk about the X-Men movies and Shauna's impersonation of the week is Rogue, as performed by Dolly Parton. It's really something. Then Olivia wants to talk about separating the art from the artist when the artist is discovered to be...problematic. The Junkies talk about that gut-wrenching feeling when you discover someone you admire said - or worse - did heinous things, and discuss how to ethically consume content (if that's even possible) while voting with your dollars to achieve real change in the industry. And is there a way to reclaim a beloved IP from an artist you once loved...just in case we ever find out something unpleasant about Taylor Swift?

50 Shades of Shrek
Shauna and Olivia are still running the show without Nicole, who went on a fabulous vacay but forgot to invite the other Junkies! Still, there's plenty to do here in Phoenix, like consuming pop culture! Shauna has been enjoying X-Men '97 and Next Level Chef with Gordon Ramsay, and she watched Total Recall for the very first time. Did you know there's a girl with three boobs in that? Olivia is still lost to the fae, currently reading A Court of Frost and Starlight, which is the 'Christmas Special' of the series. She's also binging Taylor Swift, of course. The Junkies recount their trip to Newport Beach, where Shauna's broke her foot, and plan cosplay options for her situation. Then Shauna and Olivia discuss fan fiction: why fans are compelled to write scenes for their favorite characters, how fanfic allows people to reclaim characters from problematic authors (coughcoughJK Rowling) and they even read samples of some unexpected (and saucy) crossover stories. Let's just say you'll never think of Shrek the same way again.
