His works are a reflection of his community which he uses to comment on the burning social questions of our time. From global warming and the dismantling of democracy to Black love and the centering of Black bodies, hopes and dreams, his paintings chronicle the extraordinary lives of everyday people.

I am thrilled to share with you my new project under the Revolutionary Daydreams banner! Art Beyond Borders with Nicholas Roman Lewis is a video series and podcast where I profile artists in their studios and take a deep dive into their work and practice. If you know me, you know I love championing artists so I'm thankful to have the opportunity to shine the light on amazing creatives. In this first episode I interview Mario Moore in his Detroit studio and learn the stories behind some of his latest paintings and works in progress.

Open the gates and behold the beautiful mural that invites you into the Nubuke Foundation which celebrates the arts and culture of Ghana. I had the pleasure of speaking with curator, Bianca Manu, in the lovely garden. Bianca exhibits emerging and established artists that span traditional and contemporary styles and offers programming that connects the arts with the community. I enjoyed my conversation with Bianca and look forward to returning to Nubuke when they are finished with renovations that will add more space for site specific large scale sculptural works.
