Welcome to episode 24 of the rude not too podcast. This time we've invited Aberdeen based Dj Denzel to supply us with an hour of his finest work. After hearing him live at his CNCPT underground event in his home town recently, we just had to get him on. In the short period of time Dean Newlands aka Denzel has managed to establish himself as an accomplished techno Dj, through his inspiring love of the scene and the music. Welcome back to the ...rude not too Podcast. For Episode 24, we have a special extended, (almost) 3 hour mix! Recorded exclusivly for the show, Scottish Techno maestro Stevie Wilson gives us his interpritation on that dark, underground club sound.
The continued rise of Scottish award winning techno Dj/Producer Stevie Wilson is growing in epic proportion. Since he started producing techno music only in May 2011 his tracks have been well received in the techno community and gaining massive support from Dj’s all over the world. In this short space of time he also won the award for best Scottish Techno producer 2012 at the E.M.M.A.S & this has now made his name stand out among the rest and show everybody that he means business.

Stevie’s passion for music started at a very early age. From the days of school buying and swapping music with friends it was clear to him then that he had to take the next step and get his first set of decks. Since then stevie has never looked back and is always pushing the boundaries with his musical and technical abilities from when he is performing in clubs rocking the dancefloors with his high energy pounding beats to the music he produces in which he blends all sorts of different sounds from deep & dark to twisted industrial sounds to full on banging grooves that is guaranteed to get any crowd moving on the dancefloor.

His main influences from the early days were people like Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Bass Generator, Mikey B, Easygroove, Technotrance and basically the whole early hardcore techno / breakbeat era.

Nowadays his influences are people like Len Faki, A.Paul, The Advent & Industrialyzer, Dave Clarke, Chris Liebing, Monoloc, Pfirter, Alan Fitzpatrick, Ricardo Garduno, Gary Beck, and loads more. The amazing thing is he has got to play alongside some of these guys who inspire him so much such as A.Paul, Dandi & Ugo, Vegim, Eddie Halliwell, Alan Fitzpatrick, Valentino Kanzyani, Judge Jules, Hernan Cattaneo, Hans Bouffmyhre, Randy Katana, Funk’Void, Dj Misjah and many more.
Stevie has played at all the best venues in Scotland such as The Arches, Room At The Top, The Soundhaus, Ivory Blacks, The Metro, Club 69, Liquid Rooms and that’s just to name a few which has spread over various club nights.

So you can tell techno is his passion, his life and an art form he clearly loves.

After our winter break we're back in full flow with Mr ...rude not too himself Stevie Webster, supplying us with his latest studio mix recorded exclusively for us.

Stevie fell in love with dance music at an early age after acquiring his first set of turntables at the age of 15. From then, over the following 5 years he spent most of his time (and money) discovering music, collecting a substantial vinyl collection and developing quite a talent for mixing. After getting together with his friends and doing a few small gigs, Stevie was soon recognised and given a massive opportunity to warm up the legend Pete Tong for Radio 1's essential selection after party. He did it well and impressed enough to gain a weekly residency at the once legendary Ice Factory nightclub. It was here that over the following 4 years, Stevie would be exposed to some of the biggest names in the industry, regularly mixing along side the Radio 1 roster, Cream, Hed-kandi, excentric, inside out and the immortal Rhumba Club. He gained the ability to warm up and do it well, under pressure and in front of massive crowds and refined his musical taste to today's more recognisable form of Techno.
Now and looking forward to the future you can find Stevie doing his popular "rude not too" podcasts which gain listeners from all around the globe, working on his own music productions and of course Djing with his current, technology embracing set up of Traktor and Maschine.

Stevie released his first Original production on Clutch Trax in 2013 with his massive track Origin, followed up by 4 original and remixed tracks on GS records in 2014.

JKaeva is a Tech House & Techno project from Aberdeen based DJ/Producer Jamie Robertson.
Starting to DJ in 2003 and more recently with a focus on learning production, 2014 saw the release of Kaeva’s first track ‘Machine’ on Cubek Records, with many more productions and collaborations planned to follow.
During his time as Co-Owner & Resident at TLF Events, Kaeva has hosted/played alongside some of the biggest names in Tech House & Techno: Gary Beck, Dustin Zahn, Pleasurekraft, Bontan, Edit Select, Billy Nasty, Stefano Noferini, Tommy Four Seven, Matador and Pig&Dan.
Now working with the Sub:merged label on large scale events across Europe, Kaeva and TLF partner Audio Perversion played at Amsterdam Dance Event this October, and are set to return to WesterUnie early in 2015.

For episode 21 of the ...rude not too podcast, we welcome a guest we've been trying to get hold of for some time. He's been kind enough to supply a 1hr 30min mix of his finest work, utilising 4 decks, drum computers and fx units to gel together his forward thinking style. Be prepared to be taken on an epic journey of Tech-House and Techno courtesy of JOHNNY ALLEN!

Johnny Allen discovered his first set of decks at the tender the age of 14. Picking up two hi fi turntable tops and a mixer(see my Facebook for my first mixer lol) from his local electronic store - he hasn’t looked back since.
His first live appearances playing to a crowd were in 2000 where he played at local parties in his home town before moving abroad to play at clubs in both Spain and Crete.
In 2004, he was invited to play at a popular local techno night called 'Refresh' where he gained a regular slot playing harder edged techno. During this time he was also invited to play at various other nights including The Vault, Soundhaus Glasgow, The Club(Club 69) Paisley and the Honeycomb in Edinburgh where he played alongside the likes of GREEN VELVET, CHRIS LIBERATOR, DAVE THE DRUMMER and hardcore legend LENNY D.
A turning point in Johnny's career came in 2005 when he visited the Sonar festival and after listening to the likes of Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos, he was blown away by a whole new style of techno music and sound effects. Greatly influenced by these techno pioneers, Johnny then slowly changed his djing style to a more groove driven tech house and minimal techno which was warmly received at his gigs.
In 2009, Johnny got together with fellow DJs CLUTCH SLIP and started a club night, "Hectors Discotheque", at The Club (Club69). The "Hectors" booked and played alongside the likes of ALAN FITZPATRICK, HANS BOUFFMYHRE, KYLE GEIGER and local hero ALAN BELSHAW. Venues for Hectors Discotheque changed frequently from boats, to fields, to barns, to various other Glasgow club venues, a move which kept the night innovative and fresh which seemed to appeal to the clubbers. Teaming up with fellow DJ Mark Stuart as techno duo FREEEKNIT, Johnny has also been able to showcase his turntable trickery in a fresh innovative way by using a mixture of software and hardware effects and drum machines to give the crowd something a a little less conventional than the traditional two decks and a mixer style of djing.
These days Johnny can be found in the studio producing music or working on future events. He has also secured gigs at a list of radio shows and clubs in Scotland with some of the biggest names on the DJ circuit.....last year alone he played after MINUS superstar HEARTTHROB, JOSEPH CAPRIATI and SCI-TEC/MINUS JOOP JUNIOR and this year warmed up for HOBO and MATADOR(IE) in Glasgow, also from Richie Hawtins Minus Label.

Audio Perversion is the alias of Scottish DJ & Producer Tommy Fraser. Known for his unmistakeable and addicting brand of Techno, Tommy has been a key figure in the Aberdeen & Scottish underground music scene for more years than most.
Alongside crafting and evolving his sound as a performer, Tommy has been working with fellow Aberdeen producer Jamie ‘Kaeva’ Robertson, to hold some of the most infamous parties in the country as Co-Founder and Director of TLF Events.
Tommy began spinning vinyl in the mid-nineties, embracing many forms of underground music and perfecting his own take on mixing. Since the early 2000’s he has played and held residencies at almost every notable underground club in his city, slowly becoming one of the most experienced and respected party starters going.
In recent years, drawing on the influences of legends Dave Clarke, Edit Select, Mark Broom, Billy Nasty, Jeff Mills, and James Ruskin – Tommy has embraced Techno and settled into the genre he identifies with the most, creating the Audio Perversion project.
Under the Audio Perversion moniker and with his residency at TLF, Tommy has supported & played alongside the likes of Billy Nasty, Gary Beck, Dustin Zahn, Edit Select, Tommy Four Seven, Hans Bouffmyhre, Mark Broom, Matador, and for TLF White with Tech House giants Pleasurekraft, Bontan, and Stefano Noferini.
2013 saw the first Audio Perversion release on Cubek Records with his track ‘Crypric’. With more releases on Cubek scheduled for 2014 and also future projects on Bageera’s Red October imprint, Audio perversion shows no signs of slowing down.
