    S13E61 The Premiership Review

    S13E61 The Premiership Review

Our latest podcast is a review of the Premiership season with fans of all the teams in the league. John is joined by Erin, Michael, Ethan, Graeme, Charlie, Laurie, Euan, Stephen, Andy, Ross, Alan and Danny.

We reflect on predictions made at the start of the season, discuss highlights of the season and who some of the best signings were.

To kick things off Euan discusses the disappointment of Livingston being relegated and where it went wrong for them. There is chat surrounding the future of Martindale after the announcement he's staying at the club.

It's been a terrific season for Dundee and Ethan is delighted with how things have went and tells us how impressed he has been with Docherty.

Once again Ross County survived through the playoffs. Ross obviously doesn't want a repeat of that next season. The influence of Cowie has been massive since he came on with home form being key.

The Edinburgh clubs have had mixed seasons with Graeme naturally happy with how the season has went while Charlie laments the fact that Hibs are looking for another manager.

Andy discusses whether Clement is under pressure at Rangers or whether things are looking better for the club under his reign.

St Mirren have qualified for Europe for the first time since 1987 which Alan is naturally delighted about. The job that Robinson is doing at the club is given recognition with improvement on last season.

Stephen talks about how Motherwell were right to keep Kettlewell in charge despite a terrible run of games without a win.

Craig Levein managed to keep St Johnstone up but it's safe to say Danny doesn't think he should have a long term future at the club.

Erin is always optimistic about Aberdeen but has to concede it has been a poor season despite there being some good results against some of the better teams.

Another club who improved this season was Kilmarnock with them also finishing in the European places. Laurie reflects on the season and the strength of the team that Mcinnes has built.

We wrap things up with Michael talking about Celtic's double and what he thinks needs to happen next season to improve.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to these Premiership specials this season in earlier episodes too.

S13E60 SWPL Review and Scottish Cup Final Preview

S13E60 SWPL Review and Scottish Cup Final Preview

With the SWPL title wrapped up in dramatic style for the second year running, and a Scottish Cup final to look forward to this Sunday at Hampden, Dave is once more joined by Eva Murray to discuss all things in women's Scottish football.

Before the title celebrations, there was a huge midweek that saw Celtic beat Hearts 3-1, and Dave caught up with Elena Sadiku and Kelly Clark after that match for their thoughts on what could happen at Celtic Park. There is a bit more from Elena after Sunday's drama, along with her team gatecrashing the interview!

Eva gives us her view on how things played out at Broadwood on Sunday as Rangers came agonisingly close to regaining the title, before turning focus on champions Celtic.

Hibernian and Hearts both played their parts, with the latter still with hopes for the Scottish Cup knowing they were one of two teams to beat Rangers in the league this season.

Further down the league, there was just a single point between the bottom two with Hamilton losing out and Dundee United facing Kilmarnock in the playoff (played after this was recorded), whilst Montrose achievement of staying up with a bit to spare is rightly congratulated.

Dave and Eva finish up with their own SWPL teams of the season.

S13E58 Euro 2024 Preview: Media Special

S13E58 Euro 2024 Preview: Media Special

It's four weeks until Euro 2024 begins and our countdown to the big event gets underway as we bring viewpoints from the media both sides of the border. In part one, John B speaks to BBC's lead commentator Guy Mowbray who talks about his rise to the top of the commentary ladder, and gives his thoughts on England's chances of landing the big prize having come so close in the delayed Euro 2020 finals.

John then chats to freelance reporter Connie McLaughlin, who gives a great insight into what it's like to interview Steve Clarke and what he's really like behind the camera. She also recalls how she had to react during the infamous Rodri interview and frantically trying to find out what was going on during the rain delay when Georgia came to Hampden.

    S13E57 Leagues of Our Own

    S13E57 Leagues of Our Own

This week's episode features regulars John, Charlie, Josh and Krys as we take a look at the leagues that don't get as much coverage as they should. Joining them are returning guest Graeme and debutant Paul.

There is discussion about the pyramid system and concerns about it in it's current format with debate about whether there are enough teams who are ambitious enough to climb the leagues and the self preservation nature of the leagues above.

Graeme is keen to tell us that the Highand League is the best in not just Scotland but the world though that might be due to having his second book come out soon.

We discuss Buckie Thistle and the licensing issue, Josh tells us about all his favourite teams in the West of Scotland and we predict who will win some of the playoffs in the lower leagues.

There is chat about grounds that everyone would like to visit, favourite food that they've had on their travels and much more.

    S13E56 Euro 2000 and 2004 Throwback

    S13E56 Euro 2000 and 2004 Throwback

The countdown continues for this year's European Championship, so whilst in past years we've seen tournaments take place without Scotland and we've thrown back to those that we were at, here we've flipped the script as Steve Clarke and co can tell their own story this summer!

John Bl is joined by Krys and Scott to look back at Euro 2000 and Euro 2004, two tournaments that Scotland missed out on the playoffs - so yes we touch on those as well!

At Euro 2000, we had possibly the strongest lineup of semi finalists you're ever likely to see, and a host of the best players that football had to offer at the time all turning up and turning on there style. And of course there was the dramatic ending to the tournament with how the final went.

At Euro 2004, there was the emergence of young talent like Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, shocks from the opening game to the final itself - although is it a shock if the same thing happens to the same teams in both?

And Krys gets to gush about Henrik Larsson across both tournaments. The bigger surprise might be his favourite kit!
