Punjab Human Rights Organization (PHRO) has recently written a letter to SGPC appointed Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh submitting their findings on enforced disappearance of Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaunke, former Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib, by Indian forces. PHRO also enclosed a copy of BP Tiwari’s report about illegal custody and disappearance of Bhai Gurdev Singh at the hands of Punjab police.

Shaheed Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaunke was jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib when he was martyred by the Indian police in custody. He was subjected to grave torture and was murdered in custody. After his martyrdom the police declared him ‘absconder’ in order to deny his death in custody.

A seminar on New education policy and its impact on dialects was conducted by Sath on 8th December 2023 at Sunny Oberoi Auditorium, Punjabi University, Patiala. Dr. Joga Singh (Linguist), Dr. Sikander Singh (Professor, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University) in the seminar, Lakha Sidhana (activist) shared his ideas with the researchers. Various respected personalities, researchers and students from various organizations of the university were part of this seminar.
