In this very socially isolated episode of tech matters, we talk about our little corner of the world and how we are adapting to socially isolating, and using technology to stay connected for work and play.  We talk about a few candidates for tech fail of the week - both from government, and also some things we think they got right with the coronavirus apps they've been releasing to keep everyone informed.  

In tonight's episode, we do our first isolation podcast via skype, not because we have to yet, but because we thought we should have a go before we had to do it this way anyway.  We talk about that viral craze sweeping the globe - covid-19, and how it's realigning the way some people work (those lucky enough to be able to) from home, and how it'd be so much better if we were all on fibre optic internet.  

Craig tells us about a fantastic app that's free at the moment for frustrated ballerz (Basketball that is) in isolation, and we drop a quick dose of quick tech news.  Stay safe everyone, wash those hands and space out a bit more, you're standing too close.

 In episode 9 of Tech matters, Greg and Craig talk about how Mozilla is preemptively starting to think of user privacy with their Firefox browser, and how 8K is basically a waste of money as most people can't tell the difference from 4k screens.  Coronavirus fever (pun intended) is sweeping the world, with online companies having to ban the sale of products claiming to help prevent it, and Consumer level drones are finally starting to get smart enough to stop their operators crashing them into stuff. 

In this episode, we talk about the coronavirus (because everyone is talking about it), this week's tip from Greg is how to see which external sites are accessing your facebook data, and Craig talks about some new solid state battery technology. Fails this week are from companies selling and leaking data, and we introduce a new segment - Quick Fire News.

In the seventh episode of the Tech Matters podcast, Craig and Greg talk about the end of the road for Windows 7, and the gadgets on display this week at CES in Las Vegas - some cool, some not so cool.  Craig talks about tech in sport after visiting the Brisbane Bullets with some of his basketball students, and Greg gives his take on some of the new fake meat products hitting the shelves in our supermarkets and the menus at fast food outlets.  They also talk about the new standard of bluetooth that's on the way to make everyone's headphones and ear buds run longer and work better.

In out 6th episode, we talk about the internet news cycle while our country is on fire, Our mutual love of paying less for tech and all the great options out there for saving a few dollars, and our fail of the week (possibly the year) is from the makers of the segway.
