Episode 177: Germfree Innovations: Sanitization Meets Innovation: How to Keep Your Office Clean Longer

Episode 177: Germfree Innovations: Sanitization Meets Innovation: How to Keep Your Office Clean Longer

Jay Baum is the President of GermFree innovations, a company devoted to sanitation and cleanliness. He has been working with and associated with the dentistry world since 1994.

Their technology uses a mechanical rather than a chemical bond, which will lower the dangerous levels of exposure to your staff and patients. It is a water-based product that is very safe for humans. The technology has been there, but R&D money was not being channeled to them until the increasing dangers of superbugs.

GermFree produces two products, MyShield and Germfree24. Its most notable items are hand sanitizer, soap, and surface cleaners. The items are different from standard cleaners because they are largely composed of Zetrisil. Zetrisil kills 99.9999% of germs on contact, and lasts for up to 28 days, providing long-term protection against fungi, bacteria, and viruses. There have been several studies on GermFree’s products, which have been shown to work against the COVID-19 virus.

The cleaners are all-surface for optimum hygiene. They are not for use on skin but are not harmful in the event of accidental skin contact. The surface cleaners are odorless and safe if accidentally inhaled.

GermFree also has several MyShield hand sanitizer options. They have both a foaming and gel version, both using Zetrisil. They come in a range of travel sizes to gallon jugs. Do the hand sanitizers leave a residue on the hands? Yes, it dries faster than typical alcohol-based sanitizers and keeps killing germs for 4-6 hours after application. It does not irritate sensitive skin, and leaves skin soft and moisturized, unlike common hand sanitizers.

How much sanitizer do you have to use on your hands?

The amount is measured out in the pump and costs about $.01 per use

There is a MyShield topical antiseptic, which may be used on scrapes, cuts, and burns. The product cleans wounds and prevents infections. It is water-based and made with Zetrisil, as well as aloe vera. It can control bacterial infection and prevent reinfection for up to 24 hours. It is FDA registered and produced in the USA.

Will the laundry cleaner damage my clothes or leave odors behind?

It is extremely safe to use on surfaces and does not cause discoloration or damage. The products don’t contain chlorine or peroxide, which causes discolorations in plastics and vinyl.

Episode 176: Creating Remarkable and Rewarding Practices: How Dr. Cochran Exceeded His Metrics with Firegang

Episode 176: Creating Remarkable and Rewarding Practices: How Dr. Cochran Exceeded His Metrics with Firegang

Adam Zilko of Firegang marketing and Dr. Josh Cochran are talking about marketing. Dr. Cochran opened his practice 6 years ago and struggled after having a hard first few years. He decided to double down and keep building and brought on a partner. He also started to make a list of what he wanted out of his marketing. Adam reached out to him and they lived in the same area and decided to work together to focus on effective digital marketing.

When Nifty looked to partner with Firegang, Dr. Cochran’s history of researching carefully before taking action and his experience with Firegang was definitely a strong reason to look at them closer.

Do you prefer to have someone who is more hands-on to work with Firegang? We want clients to be as involved as possible. If there are issues or adjustments to be made, they want good communication so changes can be made and your outcome is successful.

What was the onboarding process like? The onboarding was simple and professional with a timeline. It’s even more important because you don’t get your initial reports until three months later. Where it often feels like the doctor is trying to push action on a company to get a new service or changes to service, he was surprised to find that Firegang was sending him action steps before he could contact them first.

Why would we not want to be thrifty by doing things like our own marketing or website design? It’s not an effective cost use of your time? When you are focused on lower-value tasks, you’re missing opportunities to grow or work in high-value things where you are already successful. It’s not about being cheap, it’s about recognizing where to put the most value.

The started in September and grew new patients year over year significantly. September 2019 had 124 to 162 in 2020 and October 126 to 228 when comparing 2019 to 2020. Production has gone up and all of his production measurements have grown since starting with Firegang.

Episode 175: Implant Funnel Case Study- Generating An Extra $137,844 In Less Than 7 Weeks- Firegang

Episode 175: Implant Funnel Case Study- Generating An Extra $137,844 In Less Than 7 Weeks- Firegang

Adam Zilko is the CEO of Firegang Dental Marketing. After what seemed to become a controversial post, we wanted to take a moment to break down the case study he mentioned to show just how well the implant funnel can actually work for you. It took two years in development and continues to develop and improve with Google.

Dr. Roy Thompson is a client that started with Firegang about 7 months ago. One thing to note is that he is only reporting on implant revenue created, not other revenue created through the funnel. Over $137,844 is his current funnel. This doesn’t account for the additional revenue created from those that do not seek implant treatment. They wrote a proprietary “drain” to help build your reputation and clout so that people don’t just continue to move on and help them choose you to book.

Why does the application matter? The application form helps to filter desirable patients. Once they contact the lead, they may leave notes in the CRM on when to follow up again. They also listen to the conversations to learn how they may need to better target the marketing to improve leads even more.

If leads do not initially schedule, they will enter a different contact sequence to provide additional layers of exposure.

Episode 174: Making the Most of Your Millennial Team Members- Chris Tuff

Episode 174: Making the Most of Your Millennial Team Members- Chris Tuff

Chris Tuff is an entrepreneur and writer of The Millennial Whisperer. He struggled to find a job after 65 interviews after college. It was a small company that began to grow where he moved throughout the company. He created a viral video of his engagement for his company and learned quickly about social media. When he no longer knew what his job really entailed, he jokingly called himself “The Millennial Whisperer” and wrote a book about how to improve communication.

One of the things Millennials want is a mentor and coach. They have parents that had more of a friendship relationship than an authoritarian type other generations grew up experiencing. For them, the connection can sometimes be more important than pay. Benefits and positive work culture are something that they value. They want autonomy to create subcultures as well. The environment needs to be a culture of constant learning. They need to have opportunities for growth.

The 70/30 rule is that 70% of your job will inspire you, but 30% of it may suck. Because of the images of perfection on social media, people have an unrealistic expectation that things will always be great.

Do a “fly-by” every Monday morning. Check-in with people to see how they are doing. People want feedback grounded in data and almost immediately. Typically you have a 3-hour window to do this. Millennials do tend to be a bit more sensitive, so using the sandwich method is important. Using the word “and” instead of “but” engages the person more positively.

Remind your team that you are all heroes with a purpose by bettering the health of your patients. You’ll need to make connections with both your team and your patients. Your team needs context for your decisions so they understand, so you need transparency.

Millennials also want autonomy. Think of the Under Armor campaign of “Protect this house”. You need to build a culture that protects each other and solves the problems for you.

Episode 173: Making Dentistry Easier and Teeth More Visible- Light Solutions Dental

Episode 173: Making Dentistry Easier and Teeth More Visible- Light Solutions Dental

Dr. Tina Saw is from Light Solutions Dental, a popular headlamp with wireless options.

What is your background? She graduated in 2014 and worked as an associate for a year before starting her own practice with her husband after a year.

What she didn’t like was the heat and weight of typical light. With Covid temporarily closing their office, they wanted to further develop the prototypes to improve the design.

While it is designed for everyone’s needs, the cost is very affordable. The markup in dentistry is significant, but they don’t want the price point to prevent every operatory from having the advantage of great lighting.

What is the lead time on getting it delivered? Loupes can be delivered in 2-4 weeks, most lights can ship in 1 week.

Is there a mount design for loupes? It can fit in easily with most loupes with a simple pop on to the frame.

There are single and double battery options, with many opting for the double battery because it is brighter and has exchangeable batteries. On low, it is 6-8 hours or on high 2-3 hours.

What’s coming next? They are always working on improvements and will have to follow them for updates. Their lights already fasten to face shields.

Every light is tested before shipping

Episode 172: First Impressions- What You Really Need in Your Website- The DocSites

Episode 172: First Impressions- What You Really Need in Your Website- The DocSites

Ali Soufi is the owner of The DocSites. They started doing sites for many types of businesses but found they could offer the most effective work to doctors and dentists. He still enjoys working with people directly to give them a personalized experience.

It says your monthly fee is only $49/month. Is that right? That’s correct. It includes updates, maintenance, and support. There are no backend portals to log in. You call and they make your updates for you with no hassle. They offer an SSL certificate which is highly recommended for an additional $10/ month.

What are the tiers? The standard, plus, and premier options are all available. They also offer a marketing package. Many of the options are offered ala carte for what you want.

Is there a long-term contract? It’s true that we don’t do contracts. If they are happy why would they leave, and if they are unhappy why would we want them to stay? You own the domain.

Updates to your site can happen typically within one business day. If you need simple photoshopping such as lighting adjustments to images sent, they will adjust it at no charge before adding them to your site. They want your site to give a great first impression!

Transparent pricing is something that sets them apart from competitors. Switching to them as a provider is very simple.

If we have too many videos will it slow my site down? We can stream the videos from YouTube for a simple solution that will not slow you down at all.

Can you upload the videos for me? You can upload it to the DocSites channel to host for you.

$999 standard, $1499 standard plus, and $2499 premier. There’s a setup fee and you can choose your hosting plan. There are multiple design styles to choose from and they will have you up and running in a few weeks, typically 3-4 weeks total.

Why can’t we just DIY our site? It will look like it, and you're stuck hosting and maintaining it yourself. The savings isn’t worth the impression you’re putting out to the community.

What about if we want a higher plan? We will work with you to give you a great deal.

They offer shortcuts, integrated google 5-star reviews, and many other options for review tools.

The marketing packages are flexible and start at $99.
