    Episode 207 - Reesie Woods Pt. 2

    Episode 207 - Reesie Woods Pt. 2

Returning this week from his initial appearance on episode 108 is R&B artist Reesie Woods! In 2022 Reesie had discussed with us about moving from his hometown of Gary, Indiana to Atlanta and on this episode he explained why he’s now deciding to move back to the Chicagoland area. He described his time in Atlanta as a learning experience but one he feels he can take away a lot of positive things from moving forward. On the music side he talked about being able to retain his independence even after a label meeting in the city that was a first of its kind experience for him. While doing this he released not only his album “Ego Off. Soul On.” but also his latest single “Blackberry” in which he accompanied with a chopped and screwed version earlier this year. While he’s currently crafting his next release he’s in no rush as he continues to stay true to himself and his voice each and every day of his journey which we admire a lot. We always welcome Reesie to come back on the show again and always appreciate him for lending some of his time!

    Episode 206 - Adam Dash

    Episode 206 - Adam Dash

For episode 206 we welcome the host of the Sound Centric Podcast named Adam Dash! Having discovered his platform via Threads we were intrigued by Adam’s top notch content and his love for music all of which we was excited to discuss with him this week! Our first topic point was his love for Hip-Hop listening to artists like J. Cole and how he was able to begin interviewing different acts during his college years at Ohio State all of which helped spark his passion for music journalism. We touched lightly on the recent beefs in the Hip-Hop world and how they can help spark content creation ideas while also helping to engage fans of the craft with platforms like Adam’s. He also gave the backstory on the Sound Centric brand as a whole and how he envisions it growing and expanding into many different outlets in the coming years as he also currently looks to pursue a career in the music industry itself. We thank Adam for joining me this week and if you haven’t already go check out his work by searching for the Sound Centric Podcast especially if you’re a Hip-Hop head like us!

    Episode 205 - Haze Pt. 2

    Episode 205 - Haze Pt. 2

On this weeks catch up episode we reconnected with one of our favorite producers and entrepreneurs named Haze who originally appeared back on episode 50 in 2021! Since our initial discussion regarding his pursuit of new artistic endeavors Haze gave a fresh look into how he’s continued his mission to diversify and think outside the box in terms of his creative nature. He talked about some of his local art exhibitions over the past couple years and what he’s learned holding events both on a logistical side and from a place of true freedom and expression. Haze gave more updates on his innovative music tech piece called ITEM that we initially discussed previously and how the past 10 years of perfecting it have really paid off in huge ways. While still working on music he also revealed his upcoming collaborations with Jaden Smith and what their relationship has meant to him being able to connect with another like mind who shares a vision that’s larger than what the industry scope often provides. We feel Haze’s spirit and enthusiasm for reinventing himself everyday represents the real fabric of why art is so important in the human experience and we thank him for reaching out again to shed some more light on it for you all!

    Episode 204 - Samantha Heaton

    Episode 204 - Samantha Heaton

In honor of Record Store Day which took place in April we bring to you a very special in person interview with Samantha Heaton, the owner of one of northeast Ohio’s’ most buzzing record shops called Erie St. Vinyl! Samantha welcomed us into her incredible space to discuss what it’s like running a brick and mortar business that’s directly tied into the music world and more importantly the local community of artists and creatives that make it so special. She talks about what it’s meant for her to be able to hold events, meet new individuals and really give back to people who not only make music themselves but those who are just as passionate about supporting other artists through physical releases as she is. She provided real insight on the day to day process of running inventory, juggling a second career and a lot more that can be helpful if you’re looking to follow a similar path. We want to extend another huge thanks to Samantha for allowing us to stop by and if you’re in the northeast Ohio area be sure to make your way to Massillon and check out Erie St. Vinyl as soon as possible!

    Episode 203 - Marcus Waine

    Episode 203 - Marcus Waine

This week we bring you an awesome singer and producer from our neck of the woods named Marcus Waine! Marcus is from Canton, Ohio and part of this discussion was about being a music maker from an area not prominently known for its artistic endeavor’s and opportunities. He gave his take on it as someone who’s had music involved in his life for quite some time and how he feels the tight knit community of artists in the area should keep building and striving to help the next generation. We also talked about his latest release the EP titled “Singelton.” where he described being able to grow as an artist and as a person throughout the process which allowed him to be even more free in his creativity compared to previous projects. We’re huge fans of Marcus and his music but also his positive energy surrounding the importance of having a voice for himself and for others to use as a powerful tool for change. Shoutout to him for the time and we’re thrilled to work with him again very soon!

    Episode 202 - Sofia Gillani Pt. 2

    Episode 202 - Sofia Gillani Pt. 2

We welcome back London artist Sofia Gillani to the show this week after her initial appearance on episode 114! Sofia has stayed hard at work over the past 2 years continuing to release and heavily promote her material on social media and within the local scene in the UK. This week we discussed her most recent release the single “Levels” and how it’s genre blending style marked the beginning of a new level of experimentation for her. She also told us how it helped shape the rest of her next EP that’s currently in the works and should be heard by fans in the near future. We also discussed what her future endeavors might include such as branching out to other creative mediums like expressive dance which could serve as another way for her to express feelings through the art world. We admire Sofia’s work ethic and self belief and we hope you all enjoy this week’s chat!
